Frisk and Asriel walk around with Papyrus around the town, trying to find something to distract us from the actual threat at hand. I sigh and split away, knowing I can get away with it, then hide down an alleyway as I curl into a ball.

"Of course that smiley trashbag dies and it effects everyone." I say to myself. I reach behind me and grab the knife I've brought with me in a pouch. Holding it, I sigh then look out towards the sidewalk, seeing Papyrus and the group starting to search for me.

"Chara!" They call out, but I slip further away and start to go in search of that pink souled monster.

"Branden shouldn't be burdened with this." I say quietly and grip the knife tighter. "This shouldn't be any harder then the genocide route."

That's when I'm cut off by a large, casually looking monster. I look up and quickly hide the knife in my pouch again as I recognize my adoptive father. The large goat man looks down and smiles at me. "Chara!" He bends down and hugs me tightly. "You're still alive!"

"Yeah, Dad, I'm alive." I forgot he hasn't seen me yet. Although Branden did tell me that he and Mom are no longer together. "What are you doing here?"

"I was actually going to get my old armor, Branden asked to have a spar with me." Dad says and I look at him in awe at the words. "What is it?"

"Branden's here?" I ask.

"Yes, just over there actually." Dad points back to where he came from and I see him sitting on a bench, holding a familiar jar.

I quickly move from dad and reach Branden. It's been hours since he left, but yet for some reason it feels longer, so when I reach Branden, I hug him tightly.

"C-Chara?" He says, looking down at me. "How..." He sighs and says. "Dad give me away?" I nod. "Figures, but I don't really care right now."

I pull back then look at the jar he's holding. I recognize the Soul inside it. "How'd you manage to save her?"

"My sister is pretty smart, she saved herself." Branden says. "Using just enough energy to break the barrier, but not enough to destroy her Soul. Dad's kept it safe for me ever since the barrier broke down."

"King Fluffybuns was always a softy, but I didn't think he could keep a secret." I say, laying on Branden's lap. "How'd you manage that?"

"He didn't know it was a secret." Branden answers. "Hopefully I can find a way to bring her back. Similarly to you and Gaster."

"So, what kind of spar are you doing with Dad?" I ask him.

"I don't know if I need a spar, if I feel the need to take you on for being stupid." He says and I look up to see him holding a knife. I reach into my pouch and feel it's empty. My eyes go wide and he stands up to look at me. I'm hit with a flash back as Gaster blasters float around him and balls of energy appear in his hands. It's almost enough to make me flinch. Instead, I barely manage to move at all, before Branden tosses the knife away and shakes his head. "I just brought you back from the dead." He looks down. "Don't go running to die again so fast."

"You shouldn't face our burdens on alone." I say as I get up and pick up my knife. I hold it towards him and stand confidently. "I'll even prove to you I'm capable of holding my own!"

He glares at me for a moment, before setting down his sister's Soul on the bench. "Fine." He holds out his right arm and a Gaster blaster forms above him with bones forming around him as well. "Prove that you can keep up with me."

"Gladly." I say and get ready to charge him.

Bones fly towards me as I dodge them with ease, then as I wait for the blaster to fire, Branden throws a energy ball at me. Jumping over his attack, I get just close enough to attack, he disappears and the blaster fires right at me. The knife, now glowing green, I swing it and form a shield that protects me long enough to get away from blast. I spin around and see three energy balls flying towards me. I dodge them and get close again, before spinning around and placing the knife on Branden's neck as he appears behind me. "Got you."
