Archie followed the paramedics, his friends and his parents into the emergency entrance of the hospital. Then four doctors ran towards the paramedics.
"What happened?" One the doctors asked.
"Male. Age 17. Was struck by a car while on his way home from school. Vitals are unstable, is suffering massive bleeding in the brain and internal bleeding in the abdomen" One of the paramedics said.
"Get him prepped for emergency surgery, now" The doctor then said.
The paramedics then rushed the bed through the hallway while another doctor held Fred, Mary, Jughead, Betty and Veronica back. Archie then stopped running with the paramedics and then headed over to his parents and his friends.
"You guys need to stay in the waiting area while we save him" The doctor said.
"Is he gonna be ok?" Mary then asked as tears fell down her face.
"We will do everything we possibly can to save him" the doctor said as she then ran off leaving everyone shocked and unsure of what was going to happen to Archie.
Archie then watched as the doctor then ran off, leaving everyone shocked and unsure if Archie would be ok.
Fred then collapsed in the nearest waiting room chair and began to worry about what was going to happen to Archie.
"What happened to Archie?" Fred then asked Betty, Jughead and Veronica.
"We were walking home from school and all of a sudden, this car comes barreling at us and then Archie pushes us out of the way and gets hit by the car" Jughead said as tears ran down his face.
"So, did the driver do anything?" Mary then asked.
"No, the driver just drove off" Betty then said.
As Archie looked around the waiting room, he began to have flashes of what happened. He saw himself pushing Betty, Veronica and Jughead out of the way, being hit with the car, being thrown into the air and then landing on the ground.
The flashes then stopped and Archie was now looking down at his friends and family. He then walked away from them and went to find the O.R.
As he neared the doors, he expected to touch the doors and then have the doors open but instead, he walked right through the door like it was nothing. He then looked at himself, then at the door and then back at himself. He then walked down the hall and after passing a few nurse stations and some hospital rooms, he finally found the O.R where he was having surgery to save his life.
As Archie walked through the door, he saw several doctors and nurses standing over his limp body that was currently on the surgical table.
As Archie walked closer, he saw that the doctors had opened up his stomach in order to stop the internal bleeding and that they were also trying to stop the bleeding in his brain. Archie desperately wanted to hurl. He then rushed out of the O.R and then suddenly, the urge to be sick was gone. He then walked back to the waiting room and sat right beside his friends.
A FEW HOURS LATER
Archie's parents had fallen asleep and so had Betty and Jughead. But the only two people who hadn't fallen asleep was Veronica and Archie. Veronica was on her phone, looking at pictures of her and Archie while hoping to God that Archie would be ok.
Archie was just looking at Veronica. Wishing that he was able to somehow tell her that he was ok. He then tried to put his hand on Veronica's shoulder. Veronica's head then lifted up and then she looked in Archie's direction. Archie was a bit shocked.
"Veronica? Can you hear me?" Archie then said. His voice sounding echoey to Veronica.
"Archie? Archie where are you?" Veronica asked.
"You're looking at me" Archie then said.
Veronica then looked around before looking back at where Archie was.
"How are you here?" Veronica then asked.
"I don't know how but I think I'm currently in an out-of-body experience" Archie said.
"Did you see what happened in the crash?" Veronica then asked.
"Yeah. But they're only coming in flashes. I do remember waking up on the ground immediately after I was hit by that car though" Archie said.
Veronica then bowed her head and began to sob.
"Veronica? What's wrong?" Archie then asked.
"I watched you being thrown into the air after being hit by the car. I saw your body hit the ground and blood splatter on your face" Veronica sobbed.
Archie then rubbed Veronica's shoulders in an attempt to calm her down.
"Well. You certainly haven't seen what I've seen" Archie said.
"What do you mean?" Veronica asked, wiping the tears from her face.
"I was just in the surgery room and I saw the doctors performing surgery on me" Archie said.
"Ugh...that must've been gross" Veronica then said with a bit of a smile.
"Yeah. It was. I wanted to throw up" Archie then said with a laugh. Veronica then laughed as well.
Then suddenly, the doors to the hall that then led to the O.R opened, startling Veronica and Archie and causing Archie to move his hand from Veronica shoulder.
The doctor then walked over to Veronica, Betty, Jughead and Archie's parents. Veronica then woke them up.
Then when Fred saw the doctor standing in front of them, he stood up.
"How is he?" Fred asked.
