Archie now lay in his bed, wide awake. Unable to sleep because if he shut his eyes, all he'd think about was the time he had with Nick. He soon got up and turned on his bedside table lamp. As soon as he did that, he noticed the light in Betty's room turning on as well. He looked over at her window and watched as Betty appeared through the curtains with her phone in her hand.
Suddenly there was a buzz from Archie's phone. Archie grabbed it and looked at it.
BETTY: Everything ok?
Archie typed on his phone.
ARCHIE: Not really
A message came through a minute after Archie sent the message.
BETTY: Nightmares?
Archie looked at her and she looked at him and then he nodded. She showed a sort of expression like she felt really bad for Archie. And she did. But she wasn't the only one that felt bad for Archie.
BETTY: What are you going to do now?
ARCHIE: I'm going to go for a walk. Want to join?
BETTY: Sure! Meet me outside the front of the house
Archie then walked over to his dresser and grabbed out some sweatpants and a t-shirt and zip up hoodie. Once he grabbed those, he put them on, shoved his phone into his pocket and left his room.
After finally managing to get downstairs without waking his parents up or Vegas, he quickly but quietly got outside, closing the door gently behind him.
He then walked down the stairs of the front porch and met Betty at the front of her house. They they began their walk.
"So, what's been keeping you up?" Betty asked, looking at Archie as he walked with the help of his walking stick.
"Just everything. Back issues and Nick St Clair" Archie sighed. Betty looked at him with a concerned look.
"He hasn't come back has he?" Betty asked. Archie shook his head.
"Thankfully not. But if he ever does show his face again, he's going to regret it" Archie said.
"You're not the only one that feels that way" Betty said. Archie looked at her.
"You're not the only one who wants to beat him up over what he did to you" Betty continued. There was a bit of a silence before another word was uttered. Then Archie spoke up.
"Betty, there's something I have to tell you. Something I haven't told anyone yet" Archie said. Betty looked at him curiously.
"The driver that hit me that day. It was Nick" Archie said. Betty looked at him in shock.
"So, he had a purpose for kidnapping you?" Betty asked. Archie nodded.
"From what I gathered after being kidnapped, he was trying to finish what he started and what he couldn't do the first time. And that's, kill me"Archie answered.
"I uh...I really don't know what to say Archie. Other than I think strongly that that bastard should rot in hell" Betty said.
When Archie and Betty stopped walking, they found themselves at the entrance to fox forest.
"You want to go for a quick walk through fox forest?" Betty asked. Archie nodded.
"We might end up bumping into Kevin or something while we're in there" Archie said as he and Betty then entered the forest. And just like Archie said, within ten minutes, they bumped into Kevin. But Kevin wasn't alone. He had Fangs tagging along with him.
"Hey guys. Bit weird to see you out here this late" Kevin said, looking at Archie and Betty.
"Archie needed the walk. And I figured that he needed someone to come with him" Betty said, smiling slightly.
"Archie, how's the pain? Is it getting any better?" Fangs asked.
"More or less" Archie said.
"So, what have we missed so far?" Kevin then asked.
LATER AT POPS
"Nick was the one that hit you?" Kevin added in shock.
"Yeah" Archie sighed as he he nodded.
"Well, we have to do something. We're not just going to let Nick get away with it. We have to finally stand up and do something" Fangs said.
"Luckily, I pulled in some favours" Betty smiled as she then pressed something on her phone. The diner door soon opened with the bell chime making a noise and all of the serpents came walking in. Archie was just in pure shock.
"So, what do we do now Archie?" Betty then asked, looking at Archie. Archie looked at her and then at both Kevin and Fangs and then finally at the serpents.
"We find him" Archie then said.
