"We tried to stop the bleeding in his brain. Which of course we did but the actual damage to his brain has unfortunately left him in a coma" The doctor said.

Fred and the rest of Archie's friends and family looked at the doctor in absolute shock.

"We were also able to fix the internal damage to his abdomen but not to his spine" the doctor then said.

"What do you mean 'his spine'?" Mary then asked.

"Because of the impact of the car hitting Archie, it almost severed his spine in half. We were able to fix some of the nerves in his spine but for the next few months, Archie won't be able to walk" the doctor then said.

"What about the coma? Do you know when he's gonna wake up from that?" Jughead then asked.

"We don't know. Our best guess is probably in about four weeks" The doctor said.

Then there was a long pause before someone spoke again.

"Can we see him?" Fred then asked .

"Of course" The doctor said kindly as he then led Archie's friends and parents down the hall, to the ICU. Archie quickly followed after them and then when he caught up with them, they were standing outside the ICU doors.

"Now I must warn you. When Archie does wake up, there's a possibility that he'll have no memory of the accident. Also, he may not be the same Archie that you all know" The doctor said as he then opened the ICU doors.

They all then walked into the ICU and then the doctor led them over to Archie's hospital bed, which at the moment was being hidden by a blue hospital curtain. The doctor then pulled the blue curtain back and revealed Archie's bed with a comatose Archie lying down on the bed.

Archie's parents were almost overwhelmed with emotions and so was Archie's friends.

Fred and Mary then grabbed some chairs that were right next to Archie's bed and then they sat down and they both held Archie's arm and sobbed.

Archie then looked at his comatose self. He was so overwhelmed with emotion when he saw how upset his parents and friends were that he had to leave the ICU.

As he exited the ICU, he overheard two doctors say his name. He then turned to the right and saw two doctors standing by the ICU.

"Do you actually know when he's going to come out of the coma?" One of the doctors asked.

"No. I don't. But all I know is that it's up to the kid whether he wakes up or not" The other doctor said.

Archie then looked through the ICU windows and looked at his family. He then sighed before walking down the hall and to the waiting room. As he neared the closed doors that led to the waiting room, he tried to walk through but for some reason, he couldn't.

"Archie Andrews" A voice said.

Archie turned around and was shocked at who had just said his name.
