"Andrea, come on we have to go to school." I knocked on her door trying to get her to come out.
It's currently Tuesday, and she didn't go to school yesterday. For the rest of the weekend all she has been doing was watching sad romance movies, especially the Titanic movie, eating ice cream, and sobbing alone in her room. She hasn't left unless it was for extra food or the bathroom. She took a shower for the first time in three days this morning, and now she sat in her room with the door locked.
"You have to face at some point. It's only Junior year." I sighed, feeling really bad for her. They have dated for over a year, and he ended it over something they could've talked about.
Boys.
The door knob twisted and the door opened. Andrea was in sweatpants, a white basic baggy tee shirt, and her white low top Air Force 1s. Her hair was in a messy bun, and she had puffy under eyes and bare skin; different from her makeup everyday. This break up is truly breaking her.
"Why can't his dad just get deployed somewhere else in a different state so I won't see his dumbass ever again." She groaned and walked downstairs.
"Good morning girls. How are you feeling, Andy?" Janice greeted and asked Andrea with sympathy.
Andrea stood still for a few seconds before she broke down in tears.
"Not good mommy." She croaked out.
"Oh baby." Janice held onto her and tried to calm her down. "He just isn't the one baby. It's okay. Everything will be okay."
"B-but I loved him." Andrea held on tighter to her mom.
"I know you did. But now you have to go to school. You already missed a day."
"M-mom. Just one more day, please!" Andrea begged.
I never saw her like this. She's usually so positive and upbeat about things. I never saw her truly mad, except for my first day of school, or even sad.
"No Andrea. I'm sorry. Now, go get your face cleaned up." Janice gave a light smile and motioned towards the downstairs bathroom.
"Fine." She walked away, and into the bathroom.
"Brynn, please look after her today. I haven't seen her like this since her father's passing." Janice sat down on the kitchen's bar stool by the island.
"I will." I nodded.
"Thank you. I'm so glad you joined our family, by the way if I never told you." She smiled, and I could feel my heart get warmer.
"Thank you for taking me in." I tried to hold back my tears. I walked over to her and hugged her, and she hugged me back.
"Alright let's go." Andrea said walking out of the bathroom.
I looked at her and saw that her eyes were red and puffy, exactly how they've been all weekend.
"I'll see you later, Janice." I smiled and waved goodbye.
"Try to have a good day girls." She shouted to us as we made our way outside.
We got into her car and I looked at her.
"You're getting a pass for out of uniform?" I asked her.
"Yeah. Imma just say I bled through my skirt and spilled coffee on my shirt. I dare administration to try me today." She put her car key into ignition and we were on our way to school.
--
We walked through the school hallway, and got a couple looks from many students.
Did word about Andrea and Joshua already get out?
"I'm going to my locker." She mumbled to me and I nodded.
Our lockers were on separate hallways, so I turned the opposite way of her, making my way to mine. As usual, Hudson was standing next to my locker, waiting for me. I liked that he did that because it shows that he thinks about me, even the early morning days.
"Good morning." I lightly smiled at him, but he didn't smile back.
"Why didn't you answer my messages or calls this weekend, Brynn?" He asked bluntly, and his tone made me step back a bit.
"I was busy." I said like he was dumb.
"Too busy for your own boyfriend?" He caught me off guard with the label.
"Oh, so now you want to put labels on our relationship." I rolled my eyes.
"That's not the fucking point, Brynn." He said in a lower tone.
"What's your problem this morning?" I asked, getting annoyed.
"I wanted to see you this weekend because I missed you."
"Why didn't you come to school yesterday, then?" I asked, folding my arms.
"My dad forced me to stay home so he could teach me about the business world."
"Oh okay." I shrugged.
"You still didn't answer my question." He let out an annoyed breath.
"Oh, sorry I couldn't hang out with you or talk to you this weekend, boyfriend, but I had major problems with Andrea and Joshua. They broke up, you know? And now she's broken."
Hudson stepped closer up to me, putting his hands onto my hips, making a fire ignite in my body.
"Say that again." He pulled me closer to him.
"Say what?" I looked down. He put his fingers onto my chin, lifting it up so we were now eye to eye.
"What did you call me?" He licked his lips.
I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Boyfriend." I lightly smiled and licked my lips.
"That's it." His eyes moved to my lips, and then back to my eyes.
He leaned in and placed his lips onto mine. I responded by kissing him back.
"Andrea, stop!" Joshua shouted from where the four hallways meet.
I broke the kiss with Hudson and looked to where the commotion was coming from.
"You broke me! And I hate you so fucking much!" Andrea shouted.
"I quickly closed my locker then ran to Andrea.
"I hate you so fucking much, yet I still love you!" She sobbed.
"Andrea, don't make me say it." Josh shook his head.
"Just say it, and I'll be gone from your life forever. You don't ever have to talk to me again, associate with me, nothing! Just fucking say it Joshua, and release me from your grasp that my heart still holds onto."
"I don't love you anymore!" Joshua bursted out, while trying to stay strong and not let any tears fall. His eyes were glossy, but nothing fell.
"Andrea-" I called out to her, softly.
"I fucking hate you." She said then walked away quickly to the nearest bathroom. I turned my head and watched as she left.
I turned my head back towards Joshua and saw a look of regret on his face.
"I let the one good thing that ever happened to me, slip away." He sniffed, trying to hold back his tears.
"But it's better if she thinks I don't love her. I just want her to be happy, and I was't making that emotion happen for her anymore."
