10 YEARS LATER
ANDREA'S POVIt was the ten year anniversary of Brynn's death. I still am affected by this day, and so are my parents.
We loved her, and she was taken so soon.
"Babe we have to go. We're going to be late." I heard his shouts from downstairs.
"Are you ready to go see aunty Brynn?" I asked my 4 year old daughter, Louise.
"Yes, mommy." She had a smile on her face. Her green eyes were bright, her dark curly brown hair was up in a nice ponytail, and she wore a cute blue dress with black flats.
"Are you girls ready?" My boyfriend, Malcom, asked me. He had flawless chocolate skin, waves, and a nice dress shirt and slacks on. We met 5 years ago at a bookstore, when we were returning our college books.
We instantly connected ever since then, and we've been in love ever since. We had our little girl after a year, and she has been the biggest blessing in my life. I named her after Brynn's mom, which was also her middle name.
I miss Brynn everyday, and wish she was here to see my little girl grow up, but I know she is watching above.
"Daddy!" Louise ran up to Malcom and hugged him.
"Hey there babygirl. Are you ready to go inside the car?" He asked in his dad voice.
"Can I bring Mr. Puffles?" She asked with a smile on her face. "Please?" She begged and dragged out.
"Of course." He flashes her a smile of his white teeth.
"Yay!" She jumped up then ran into her room.
I walked closer to him as he stood up.
"How do I look?" I asked him while fixing my dress.
"You look perfect, mamas." He put his hands onto to my waist and pulled me closer.
"Even after 4 years, you still know how to make me blush." I smiled.
"Why wouldn't I want to make my girl feel good?" He lightly chuckled.
"I love you." I smiled harder.
"I love you more." He kissed my lips, and I kissed his back.
"Ew! Get a room." Louise came out the room and when I turned around I saw she was covering her eyes. Malcom and I laughed as I walked over to her and picked her up.
"You ready to go, missy?" I tickled her side. She laughed and kept saying yes.
"I'll get the car." He said then walked out the house.
We still lived in Malibu, just not as close to everyone as I used to. I haven't seen anyone since the 5 year anniversary. I went alone to that one, since it was before I met Malcom. We all made an agreement to meet every 5 years on Brynn's death date, but we could go alone if we wanted to.
"Why are you so sad, mommy?" Louise asked me, dragging me from my thoughts on Brynn.
"I just miss aunty Brynn, baby." I said turning my head to her.
"We are going to see her today." She smiled, making me feel better.
When I met Malcom, I was still in a dark place from Brynn's death, and Hudson going to jail. He was sentenced only 15 years, meaning he could be out in 5 or earlier. He was told if he was good, he could go on parole in 10. He was originally sentenced 25 years, but his dad paid off the judge to make it less. Assholes.
Malcom helped me with my reoccurring nightmares of finding Brynn, dead. He brought me back to the light after a year, and when I found out I was pregnant, I couldn't be more excited.
