Love.
What does the word truly mean?
No one ever told me they loved me, until Hudson and Andrea, along with her family has.
But love isn't pain; that's something I definitely know.
My father never told me that he loved me, and he hurt me.
It was Andrea's birthday today, and along with myself, Dylan and Bailey were here. We were in a really nice hotel that had an amazing spa.
It was two in the morning, and we were all watching a movie on Lifetime. My mind; however, was traveling all over the place. It kept going to Hudson, and what I should do.
He was the most kindest person after I got to know him. He wasn't on drugs at that time.
Now, he doesn't know how to stop. After finding those drugs in his drawer, I knew that he wasn't mentally or physically stable to be in a relationship.
Neither am I, because even after all of my trauma, I let him hit me--and I forgive him every time.
I stopped using because I saw what they do to Hudson. I stopped with weed, pills, and acid in total.
"What are you thinking about?" Andrea sat down next to me on the bed, and snuggled next to me.
"Oh, nothing. Don't worry about it; I don't want to spoil your birthday." I shook my head with a smile on my face.
"Brynn." She looked at me with a face that said 'something's wrong, tell me'.
"We're sisters and I care about you. If my sister is in pain, I would want to know about it." She whispered.
I took a deep breath and looked into Andrea's eyes.
How do I tell her that Hudson hurts me?
"I-I think I might want to break up with Hudson." I looked back down to my fingers as I played with them.
Her face became serious as she looked at me,
"What happened?" Her tone was stern.
"I should've listened to you, Andrea." A tear fell down my face.
"What did he do?" She asked with sincerity.
I looked out and saw that Bailey and Dylan fell asleep, so I pulled down my shirt a bit, revealing the bruising around my neck from his harsh grasp, and the bruises on my collarbone from when he roughly gripped me.
"H-He hurt you?" She put her hand on top of her mouth.
"When I told you that I fell off the rock, he actually punched me in the face because I found drugs in his drawer." I cried hard now.
"Brynn." She brought me into her warm embrace.
"I love him, but I don't want to anymore." I cried into her chest.
"It'll be okay. I promise, it will be okay." She tightly squeezed me and rubbed my back.
--
The next day arrived, Sunday, and it was time to checkout of the hotel.
"This was an amazing weekend, Andy. Thank you for inviting us." Bailey smiled and hugged her.
"Thank you for coming." She chuckled.
"We'll see you in school, bitch." Dylan hugged her then me.
"Bye, whore." Andrea responded with sarcasm.
"Bye babes!" He called out to us one more time before he left the hotel.
"You got everything?" She asked as she picked up her backpack.
"Yes ma'am." I picked up my backpack as well.
"Alright, let's go." She motioned towards the door. We walked out of the lobby and towards the parking lot. What I wasn't expecting, was Hudson leaning against his car.
"Sweetheart!" He shouted with a smile on his face.
"What the fuck is he doing here?" Andrea mumbled with anger laced in her words.
"I didn't call him! I didn't even tell him which hotel." I shook my head, confused on how he could find me.
We both walked closer to our car, trying to ignore him. He got annoyed instantly,
"Are you not happy to see me, sweetheart?" He walked to our car.
"Stay away from her, Hudson." Andrea turned around and came face-to-face with him. I stood on the other side, by the passenger seat side.
"Stop trying to stick up for Brynn. She loves me and she will say hello to me." He looked at me. Fear crawled throughout my body.
"What are you doing here, Hudson." I asked while looking in his eyes.
"I missed you. What? I can't come surprise my girl?"
"How did you find us?" Andrea crossed her arms.
"That find your friends app. You forgot to turn it off, sweetheart." He smirked at me.
I felt like I couldn't move. My feet were nailed to the floor, and when he started to walk towards me, my eyes got glossy. Andrea tried to pull him away, but he pushed her away.
"Come on, sweetheart. Let's get away from here." He raised his eyebrow.
My life felt as if everything became muffled. All I could hear was my breathing, that gained its speed, and his voice that sounded far away.
"Let's forget about everyone else. Just us, sex, drugs, and freedom-"
"I want to break up!" I shouted at him.
His eyes grew small, he took a step back, and his expression became blank.
And then.. He laughed.
"Funny joke, sweetheart."
Andrea stood on the other side of the car, looking at me with a look of empathy.
"I'm serious, Hudson." I looked at him in the eyes. Mine were puffy, red, swollen, and glossy.
"You can't do that to me! You can't tell me you love me, and then just lay this shit on me!"
"You never loved me! If you did, you would've never hit me, hurt me, and kill me on the inside."
"Don't you fucking say that. I do love you-"
"Bullshit." I shook my head.
"Fuck you, Brynn. You're going to regret ever breaking up with me, bitch." He gave an evil chuckle then walked back to his car. He got in, and drove away fast.
I looked at Andrea, and she was already on her way to my side.
"Are you okay? How are you feeling?" She grabbed my shoulder lightly.
"Better now that he's gone."
"You are such a strong woman, Brynn. I'm so proud of you." She hugged me, and I hugged her back.
