Nationals

"No Jesse wait." I followed him until he slammed the door. "Jesse." I slid down the door.

"Finn what do you want?" I said still sitting  propped up on the floor against the door.

"Jesse's overreacting. You know I hated him."

"Hated. Like in the past tense?"

"He asked me to help him pick a ring for you. I think having you out of my reach forever made me see Jesse clearly. He's a little arrogant still but I like him." Finn said

"I still doesn't make sense that my fiance left me on our anniversary."

"He did it for me. If you get to know him he's a really great guy. You guys are really lucky. You already have a family. There's no more mystery between you two."

"Yes there is. It feels like every day another one of his ex girlfriends pops up out of nowhere."

"You never had to worry about that with me."

"Because you always shared your feelings. It might seem like Jesse's really dramatic and doesn't have a problem voicing his opinions but he does."

"I'm still in love with you." Finn said after a half an hour of bantering. I have no idea what to say. What can you say to your ex boyfriend. Who was your life. But you got pregnant with another guys baby and now you're engaged to the other guy.

"Finn, you have no idea how much I love you. I'm not even going to say in a different way. I'm in love with you. There's no words to explain it."

"Rachel." He held his hand to my face.

"I'm engaged."

"I know that. But Jesse let me come in here to talk to you. Because I hate to admit it he loves you too much to make you feel like you have no choice but to marry him."

"I love Jesse." He kissed me.
"I want to be with Jesse."

"I know."

"I'm sorry Finn. I can't be with you." I was paralyzed. I couldn't move. It just kept kissing Finn. Maybe it wss because Jesse left me I order to not be selfish. Or that I was in need of being selfish but we didn't stop kissing. Infill it turned into more.

The day of Nationals

Jesse didn't come back to our room.

"How are you feeling?" Quinn asked at last minute rehearsals which Jesse was also not attending.

"I took all of Jesse's confidence from him. I don't think he can come back from that."

"Rachel I know it's been a hard year for you. And a hard day, but you need to be focused for Its all coming back to me now." Mr Shue said.

"Why isn't Jesse here?" Puck asked. I glanced to Finn.

"In sorry I have to go." I walked out of the room crying.

"What are you doing Rachel, you have to win your first national championship. Despite the show choir blogs say you probably won't."

"Jesse?" I jumped up to hug him.

"Hey." He picked me up.

"Why did you do that? Send Finn to me." He backed against the wall when I was still being held by him.

"I wanted you to know that I wasn't the only one who wants to be with you."

"I only want to be with you."

"Then can you tell me nothing happened with Finn." I looked to the floor so I didn't have to say anything.

"That's okay. I was the one who let Finn see you. I expected something to happen."
