Shengena had been playing the game the child had laid on top of the little table for a while. The little boy had taught her the game that morning and she was trying to beat herself having failed to surpass the child. She heard feet rustling from the corridor that lead to the entrance and spoke without looking at her guest, "I think I have learnt the tricks, I don't think anyone can ever beat me in this game again."

"At such dangerous times, you waste yours playing games, my princess."

Shengena realized the voice was unfamiliar, she raised her head to find the mysterious guest who had returned with Eithiel. Shengena had seen him sitting next to Lour, her white red-crowned crane.

"Who are you and why do you come-in unannounced?"

"Forgive my intrusion, I am a servant of Lin'gon and I come here to serve you, my princess." Shengena was annoyed with the man already. She knew he was a servant of Lin'gon as that was the only thing he had revealed so far. All current occupants of the dark island were curious about the man since he had not added anything else.

"I am not your princess, hence you 're not my servant. Why do you not explain this place you serve as if everyone has heard of it?"

"You are my princess and I serve you because I serve Lin'gon, that you are an essential part of. Lin'gon is you wherever you are. We have been waiting for your return, my princess." Shengena stood from the bench to stand before the mysterious servant. This is going to be a challenge.

"I am sure I haven't loss my memory, I haven't been to a place known as Lin'gon or know of it. Are you here to make a fool out of me with this story?"

"We Lin'gon do no such thing, my princess, you won't get what you seek here." This man says whatever he pleases.

"What is it that I seek?"

"Peace, my princess, and the silver lands won't be able to give it you, they will betray you."

"Those are treacherous claims you make."

"I know."

"You seem to know a lot."

"I do, a lot but not all." Shengena turned and started walking to the corner where her bed was and her shadows. She was half way through the room when the servant spoke.

"The shadows can't comfort you, my princess, but Lin'gon can."

"Do you have a name?"

"We servants of Lin'gon are not individuals, but my princess can give me a name if it would please you."

Shengena sat at the table instead.

"I am beginning to find you amusing."

"It pleases me to amuse you." I am not getting anywhere with him.

"Why do you assume I belong in this place called Lin'gon?"

"Those who never belong, belong in Lin'gon." The servant paused to let his glare sink into her mind.

"Most important, you are our lost princess."

"Why do you refer to me as one who never belongs, I have belonged as you put it in a lot of places, servant."

"Sometimes it's justifiable to lie but you become a fool when you believe your own lies, my princess."

He pronounced 'my princess' so slowly as if he was putting the word to stone. Shengena realized the servant had not moved a step since he had stood where he was. She crossed her feet and clenched her hands together below her belly.
