Eithiel found a strange man-like creature on his knees on the caves terrace, the sun was harsh on his back, he was settled between two pillars that held strong thick glistening chains that Eithiel could see were made of frozen iron. The man looked nothing like any creature she had seen before. The cold chains coming from the pillars were secured upon two large red wings that belonged to the prisoner. The enormity of his wings and his slightly grotesque yet beautiful features startled Eithiel with a strange familiarity. Have I ever seen this beast before?

The man beast by the pillars had his head bent almost in shame or fatigue, his ears were pointed like that of a bat; his skin was more grey than olive and he had something long and slim with a hairy end coming from his back. Is that a tail? This could not be him. The child and the servant of Lin'gon were standing behind her, watching her, observing her stillness. The resemblance is unsettling. Is this Naro?

"Naro?" Eithiel went down on her knees and started crawling towards him. "Naro, is it you? What have they done to you?"

"Eithiel, that's their leader, the man beasts leader." Said the child in a low unsure voice.

Eithiel couldn't hear him, she was on her knees crawling before him, he hadn't raised his head when she called out for him but Eithiel was more than sure that the man kneeling before her was Naro. She reached him and picked up his hanging head and held it with her palms trying to look at him in the face. What have they done to my beautiful shadow? My angel?

"Naro, please wake up?" Eithiel could not feel the tears streaming down her cheeks.

Naro opened his eyes, they were all red against his green iris, as if he had been crying for weeks, there were dried blood droplets under his eyes. Did he cry blood? Have they tortured him? Eithiel inspected Naro' body looking for marks of torture but she didn't find any.

His smile was weak, a smile that barely reached his cheeks. "Are you in pain, what have they done to you? I will release you?" Naro's smile dropped as if the effort for such a small action was too much for him to bear, he looked at her in the eye, his head hardly staying upright.

"Eithiel, you ran away, leaving behind only a hole under the tree, what a strange girl you are, one day you're there the next you're gone." Eithiel's tears were coming down like waterfalls,"Oh please, don't die!"

"He is not dying Eithiel, he is just really tired." Interrupted the child. In a glimpse Eithiel had completely forgotten about the boy and the servant.

She turned back to find the boy a few steps behind her with a face full of surprise and concern, the Lin'gon servant wore his usual scrutinizing stare that Eithiel had shortly grown accustomed to; he was still standing at the exact spot she had been standing with them when she first saw the prisoner. Why was Naro a prisoner here?" All the fury she had kept in check had reached its moment of eruption.

"Unchain him child, right this instant!" She was still kneeling Naro's face on her arms but the anger in her eyes made the boy take a step back.

"I can't Eithiel, I didn't chain him." The servant of Lin'gon wasn't moved, he stood like a finished statue waiting admiration.

"Then who did? Tell them to come and undo the chains." The child seemed reluctant.

Eithiel realized she had been crying. Oh universe, am overreacting wearing my heart upon my sleeve. What must they think. She rubbed the tears off her cheeks. The child was still watching her.

"Eithiel, he led the army of the man beasts to destroy the silver lands; the girl, Shengena is the one who saved us."

Those words made her halt, she turned and looked at Naro again as if just noticing his wings for the first time, they were the color of blood with beautiful gold encryptions. She lightly let go of Naro's head and whispered, 'I'll get you out' in his ears, then she stood up, facing the child.
