Isabelle's POV~ I hear the door open which reveals Dwight and another man carrying what looks like another body to a table and setting it down carefully. Dwight looks at the man, "Get everyone and go load the vans, quickly." The man nods in response before running out of the room. "Oh, I can't believe this day is finally here. Now time to let you thaw." He suddenly sees me moving around to see if I recognize the body, "Oh you'll see soon enough." Then he cackles horribly causing me to flinch.
A while later, as Dwight starts to hook electrical things to the body, the man from earlier today comes in. "We're almost done loading the vans. How are you doing?"
Instead of responding like a normal person he responds with, "Ding. Dong. And we are there." As a machine beeps. The man runs off again to finish loading the van, I'm sure. I look at Dwight to see him leaning over the body and rubbing it before speaking to it, "I hope you had a nice sleep. 'Cause we got a busy, busy day ahead." He grabs a pair of glasses and walks over to me. "Put these on." I don't argue or fight. I put them on because I am scared of what will happen if I don't.
Then he starts to twist some things on his machine. Then he puts on a pair of his own glasses. "Well, hang on to your hats, folks! 'Cause you ain't seen nothing yet," Dwight laughs. This causes me to have a realization of what is going on and who is on that table. It's Jerome! As the man pulls some levers I hear the crackle of electricity and I freak out. No, he is electrocuting Jerome!
I hear the sound of flatlines and I start to cry. "NO! Wake up. Come on. Wake up!" Dwight screams at Jerome's body.
"I just heard from our guy in the GCPD. They've got our location. The others are gonna wait for us at the rendezvous. He's still dead," the man from earlier says as he stops and looks at Jerome's still dead body.
"I know he's still dead. I ran into some technical difficulties. Nothing that I can't fix," Dwight says.
"Is everything plugged in?" The man asks causing me to chuckle. Dwight glares at me before looking at the man.
"Yes."
"Try turning it on and off," This causes me to laugh out loud.
"I did! Three times," Dwight yells.
"Look, you have spent the last year telling everyone that the Prophet would return. People have made sacrifices for you, Dwight. I left a really good job at the post office. The police are coming, and you promised them, Jerome. The others expect to hear him speak. They want to see his face and if you can't do that-," the man explains but is cut off by Dwight taking one of the chords and electrocuting him with it.
"You know, you make an interesting point." I watch carefully as Dwight walks back over to Jerome's body. He picks up a scalpel and he brings it towards Jerome's face, "They want to see your face."
"NO! Stop!" I yell out but he continues on as we start to hear police sirens. I watch helplessly as he carves into Jerome's skin. Dwight takes his face off before walking over to me. He unlocks the handcuffs but quickly cuffs them together. "You sick bastard!" He places a piece of duck tape over my mouth.
"All in due time, my dear." I just glare in response as he pulls me away from Jerome's faceless body and towards a van. He pushes me into the back of the van before slamming the doors and getting in the driver's seat.
I feel the van start to move as I watch the place disappear behind us. After a while, I feel it stop. He comes to the back and pulls me along. Once we reach the top of a staircase he puts Jerome's face onto his. Poor Jerome's face, it deserves better. He pulls me down the stairs with him "Brothers and sisters, I promised you Jerome would return and today your faith is rewarded. Jerome is here. Behold the Prophet." We finally get to the bottom of the staircase and everyone stops cheering and clapping. "The Prophet is here," Dwight says pointing at himself.
