NOT LIKE THE MOVIES
Chapter II: The Party

James and Nadine shared a look. It was Nadine who shifted first her gaze from James to her college friend who was still in shock and midst of processing the whole situation in front of her.

"Actually, James and I just met." Nadine answered

"Oh." That was what Audrey could only reply

"We just met," Nadine answered

"Oh." That's what Hannah could only say.

James cleared his throat to diminish the awkward looming over then said, "How about we have breakfast first? I'm starving." He smiled and walked towards the island dining table.

"Uhm. James..." Nadine mumbled

James averted his attention to Nadine, "Yeah?"

"Can I at least put some clothes on? Where did you even place my clothes?"

"I placed all of your clothes in the washing machine 'cause you vomited last night. Don't worry, I can lend you some of my clothes inside the dress in the bedroom."

"Thanks." Nadine muttered and quickly went inside the bedroom to avoid the awkwardness.

James was leaning on the island counter top in which separated the kitchen and the dining area, while sipping his cup of black coffee.

"What is she doing here?" Out of the blue, Hannah inquired

He shrugged, "She came to the coffee shop drunk. I tried getting her the address, but she passed out."

"That's insane, Jaye. What if she is a murderer? A serial killer? A thief? You couldn't just invite random women inside of your apartment, Jaye?"

"You're insane. What if she is a serial killer? You couldn't just invite random women inside your apartment."

"Are you implying that she is a criminal then?"

"Of course not..."

James smirked, "Then you've answered your question. Plus, she was drunk. What d

James smirked, "Then you answered your own question. Come on, she was drunk and passed out. What would you expect me to do? Leave her alone in the coffee shop? Now, that's insane."

"No, but you could've called me. You know that I would come right away, yeah?" Audrey said softly, placing her hand on James' arm, "I'm always here you, Jaye. Always."

Exasperating a heavy sigh, pulling away from Audrey's grip, "Look, Addie, you weren't even supposed to be here." Shaking his head, "Why did you stop over here?"

"Maybe because I've missed you—" James let out a groan and walked back to the kitchen with Audrey following him, "— I brought you breakfast like I used to though...."

"I thought we've talked about this, Addie. You have no right to come in here without at least telling me beforehand! You've lost that right when we.... What happened to us —" James was cut off when Nadine coughed from the archway, causing to break the tension between him and Audrey

"Sorry... I didn't mean to uhmmm..." She cleared her throat, glancing down on her feet, feeling embarrassed, "disturb you, guys. If you guys want to continue the conversation... I'll go ahead and—"
