Thankfully we had a three day weekend so I was able to adventure off in the city for a bit.
"Be back at 6. Dinner will be ready.", my mom called out as I walked out the front door. I didn't know where I was going, but I know there are a couple of shops not that far from here.
As I walked I saw some stores and music shops, but kept walking until I found myself at a small café. I walked in making the bell go off and walked up to register seeing a girl with blondish hair smiling at me.
"Hello! I'm Christina, how can I help you?", she asked. "Umm can I just have a small mocha caramel frappuccino please.", she puts the order in the machine and pulls up the total. "Ok, that will be $2.70 please. I give her my card and she hands me back the receipt with my card. "It should be ready soon!", she says and I thank her moving to the side.
I go on my phone until my drink is ready until something catches my eye. I look up to get a clearer picture and see Geoff with that girl laughing. Geoff was making my drink and the girl was trying to tickle him. "Christina! Stop! I love you, but oh my you are a handful at times.", he laughed and she kissed his cheek hearing the bell go off and going back to her place at the register.
"One mocha caramel!", Geoff called out, but quickly dropped his smile as he saw it was for me.
"Thank you. Wow I love that. We aren't even dating yet and you're already making my favorite drink. I think it's meant to be.", I joked and smiled innocently.
"Awsten, I already told you I'm -", I cut him off. "Yeah, yeah I know. You're not gay. But I am gay and I'm just trying to have fun. My gaydar is telling me there's a homosexual somewhere in my area and I'm just acting upon it.", I say sweetly taking a sip of my drink.
"Well tell your 'gaydar' to knock it off because it's not going to happen.", Geoff said the last part slowly and clear thinking it would have an affect on me. I tilted my head to the side in confusion. "But how do you know it's not going to happen? I thought life was all about surprises, right?", I say with a small smile. "Well whatever Geoff. I'll see you around.", I winked and left the café.
Geoff's P.O.V.
"Geoff? What's wrong? You good?", Christina asked me taking me out of a daze.
"Huh? Oh yeah - I'm fine. Just thinking about stuff." I say softly grabbing her hand.
"You've been "thinking about stuff" a lot lately. You sure you're okay?", she asked softly squeezing my hand.
"Of course.", I leaned down and pecked her lips and she smiled. "Do you mind if I take the rest of the day off?", I asked wanting to get out of the café. "Yeah! Jawn should be coming in like 30 minutes. I'm sure I can handle it.", she smiled.
"Thank you. I love you. I'll you later.", I say kissing her one last time. "Love you too.", she says and I go to the back to leave my ID card and clock out for the day.
I hopped on my bike and made my way back home. It was currently 4:30 and I did not want to see Awsten right now. I just wanted to forget him. He's been all I've been thinking about since I've met him and I hate it. If Christina finds out what's he's been talking to me about, she'll get the wrong idea and she'll hate me and that's the last thing I want.
I made it to my house and put my bike past the back gate and locked it up. I walked into the door seeing my mom in the kitchen. "Hey Geoff. You'll back pretty early.", she noticed and I sat down diagonal from her. "Yeah - it was really slow so I decided to come home early for a bit.", I answered.
"So what do you think about Awsten?", she asked making my heart speed up. Does she know? What if she thinks I'm gay? "Uh why?", I questioned nervously.
"I don't like him."
"Oh um why?", she shrugged. "He looks gay. Is he gay? I didn't want to ask when we went over, but like ... you'll never be gay right?", she says looking at me like she's interrogating me.
"No of course not.", I say truthfully.
"Good."
