"I'll be right there, hold on."

I ended the call and ran out of my room going down the stairs.

"Awsten, stop!", my mom called out from the kitchen.

"Mom, I gotta go. This is serious.", I ignore her voice until I heard her say something that involved Geoff.

"I know what's going on between you and Geoff."

I stopped dead in my tracks hoping she didn't.

"What do you mean?", my voice was shaky.

"His mom called me back when he came home and told me everything.", she said looking for a reaction, but I just kept staring at her.

"I knew he was in your room all along. You guys didn't even try to be quiet when you guys were talking last night."

"Why didn't you say anything then?", I was confused.

"Because like I just said you guys weren't quiet. I heard everything you told him. I know we never had a good relationship, and I don't really support ... that, but I'm willing to try. Especially because it's Geoff and he's a good kid.", she gave me a little smile.

I just stood there not knowing what to do until she spoke up.

"Shouldn't you go help him?", she questioned which made me break my stance and ran to the door.

"Right! I'll be back!", and with that I shut the door running to the closest park.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Geoff!", I called out getting his attention. He was sitting at a table alone looking absolutely crushed.
"Come here.", I say as I approached him causing him to stand up and accepting my hug, falling into my arms.
He was shaking. I just held onto him as tight as I could trying to calm his down.
"Geoff, listen. You're okay. I don't hate you. You're not alone. You're going to be fine.", I comforted him trying to make him feel safe.
"My mom hates me.", was all he could say. His voice was breaking with every word I just wanted to take all that pain away.
"You'll be okay. If you're mom doesn't want us together, I don't care. You have your own life, Geoff. She's way too controlling over yours. My mom still loves you and I'm sure she won't mind if you stayed over until you find someplace.", Geoff slowly backed away from the hug looking into my eyes.
"Are you sure? She probably hates me too. My mom probably told her and she probably -", I cut him off.
"Geoff. My mom knows, alright? She doesn't accept it, but I mean she's kinda glad it's you. I guess she's known you for a while and knows you're a good person. She doesn't hate you and I can assure you that.", I say taking his hands in mine.
Geoff didn't know what to say. I could tell he felt lost and empty. I mean, his mom controlled his life so it's understandable that without her he feels like a lost puppy not knowing what to do. On top of that, the person he thought he loved the most just turned her back on him and told his mom something he wasn't ready for.
"Do you wanna go to my house?", I asked. We were in the middle of the park and people were starting to stare. I didn't want Geoff to be anymore judged than what he already was.
He nodded and I pulled him along walking back down the road.
