"Geoff, get up!"

I pushed Geoff off the bed making him fall off with a thud.

"Awsten, what the heck are you -"

"Shut up and get in my closest!"

Once Geoff fully woke up, he realized the situation and quickly ran inside the closet. I closed the door behind him and jumped back into bed making it seem like I just woke up.

"Awsten", my mom opened my door. I groaned and pretended to open my eyes for the first time.

"Do you really have no idea where Geoff is because his mom keeps calling me and she said he didn't go home last night?"

"Not this again,", I groaned, "look, do you see him here? Obviously he's not here. Maybe he went to some else's house, I don't know."

She just looked at me until something caught her eye. Geoff's phone on my bedside table.

Shit.

"What is that?", she asked me. I looked at the phone, but didn't show emotion towards it. "What the phone? Duh it's a phone."

Obviously she knew that wasn't my phone because there were 2 next to each other and I only have one.

"Why do you have 2 phones?", she tested.

At this point, I couldn't think of anything, but thankfully the house phone started ringing so she looked at me one more time before going downstairs to answer it. Once she left, I quickly ran off my bed and opened the window which thankfully wasn't too far off the ground. Once I knew she was in the kitchen, I opened the closet door pushing Geoff's phone into his chest.

"Here, you gotta go. Text me what happens okay.", he nodded and started making his way to the window. He started going outside until I stopped him.

"Geoff, please if anything happens, please don't leave me. I can't go through that again.", he looked so hurt, but he grabbed my hand.

"I will never leave you. I swear.", he pecked my cheek and left without another word.

I stood there a little shocked, but then quickly snapped out of it and closed the window. I closed my closet door getting back on my bed acting like nothing happened.

Geoff's P.O.V.

I ran all the way home trying not to get caught from Awsten's mom.

Once I reached home, I caught my breath and opened the door hoping for the best.

"Geoffrey Wingington!", my mom yelled once she saw me. "Where have you been?! You didn't answer my texts or picked up my calls! You tell me where you have been right now!"

"I was just at a friend's house. It's okay. I was safe. I didn't do anything bad."

"You didn't do anything bad?! You ran away from home without telling anyone where you were! You are lucky I didn't call the police! I bet you were with that Awsten kid!", she yelled.

"So what if I was?", I asked not seeing the big problem. I thought she was "bffs" with his mom.

"He is a bad influence! He's gay and not normal! I will not have my son be "friends" with someone like that!", she said with disgust. I was fuming.

"Awsten is not a bad influence! If anything, he's teaching me a whole different world, you never wanted to show me! He's a great friend and I don't care if you don't like him.", I screamed.

"Why are you defending him?! You chose to hang out with him over Christina which Geoff let me tell you, you've known Christina longer and now all of sudden you're letting your new "friend" take up all your time who you've only know for about a month! Why are you getting so defensive?!"

"Because I like him and I don't want people to see him as useless or a 'bad influence'!", my heart dropped realizing what I just said, but she didn't see it in that way. Something inside of me wanted her to see it in the light though, so I didn't stop there.

"I don't care if you like him as a friend, you will not ha - "

"I don't like him as a friend! I like him more than a friend!"

Once I said that it went silent.

We both were still shaken up from our argument, which we don't get as often. There was so much tension in the air. We both just stood there.

"You what?", my mom asked in disgust.

"I like him. More than a friend.", I say trying to be confident, but it still came out shaky.

We both just looked at each other until she spoke up.

"Get out of my house."
