The walk home wasn't the best, but we eventually made it back.

Sure my mom was I guess okay with this, but do I really think she won't tell his mom that I'm taking him to our house? I know his mom is going to want to know where he is and I'm not sure if my mom will cover for him, but I guess we'll find out.

"Do you think she'll be mad?", Geoff asked referring to my mom.

"I don't think she'll be.", I tried staying positive to not make him any more stressed than he already was. I opened the front door and was greeted with my mom on the couch watching tv. Once she heard the door open, she looked our way and smiled.

So maybe she won't tell.

I simply guided Geoff upstairs to my room. He didn't say anything, he just followed me and once we reached the bedroom he sat on the while I closed the door.

"You good? I mean like obviously you're not good, but like ... are you feeling a little better?", I asked trying to get him to say anything. He just nodded and got further back on the bed making some room for me. I sat next to him facing him with my legs crossed on the bed.

"It's okay to feel sad, y'know? You don't have to pretend like you're feeling better when you're not. It's okay to cry."

"It's just easier to say you're fine than to say you're hurting.", he said.

"And I get that. But Geoff Wigington does not deserve to be sad so in order to make you happy, you need to say you're not okay otherwise I'm just going to assume you're good.", I say holding his hands, "So ... are you okay?"

"No."

Just like that Geoff broke down, shaking, just wanting to be okay.

I got closer to him wrapping my arms around him trying to calm him down, but nothing was working. I pulled apart from him when I heard my door open.

"Geoff, your mom is calling me asking where you are, but don't worry I didn't tell her,", my mom got my chair from the desk and pulled it in front of us, "Awsten, can you go grab Geoff a glass of water real quick?", she asked and I nodded walking out of the room. I went downstairs into our kitchen and grabbed a cup filling it up with water.

I wanted to go upstairs, but I knew my mom was telling him something so instead I decided to put some popcorn in the microwave to make time.

Once the popcorn was ready I took out a soda from the fridge and slowly started making my way up the stairs just in case they didn't want me to hear.

I slowly opened the door to signal I was coming in and when they didn't stop me, I handed the glass to Geoff while sitting back in my position next to him. I put the popcorn in between us and opened my can.

"I don't really know if you like butter or not, but I thought you could use a snack too.", I say while popping a piece into my mouth. He smiled and started eating the snack. My mom was just watching us two with a small smile.

"If you need anything, let me know, okay?", my mom said to Geoff and he nodded saying a small thank you.

Once she left, it was just us two eating popcorn and drinking our drinks.

"I'm sure you don't want to tell me what just happened which is perfectly fine, but are you okay now?"

"A little," he started, "I guess I just needed a little reassurance from someone who wasn't you, but I'm okay for now."

"And that's completely fine. I just wanted to make sure."

For the rest of the night we just ate the popcorn in silence, but it wasn't a bad silence. It was a good type of silence.
