"Keep your back straight."Jimin's voice sounded from behind you as you continued to turn on your pointes.
You took a deep breath, following his instructions and straightening your back as you moved.
The two of you had been practicing for a good three hours-scratch that- You had been practicing for a good three hours.
Mr. Park was only watching you and correcting every little thing you did.
It wasn't like you didn't value his instruction, because you did. You understood that he was only trying to better your dancing.
But he was supposed to be your partner.
Which meant that he was supposed to be dancing with you, not yelling at you from the other side of the room.
You were beginning to grow frustrated with his constant shouting. You had already resisted the desire to slap him numerous times, but you could feel that urge creeping back on you slowly as he continued to bark commands.
It had been like this for two weeks.
You would dance and he would judge you.
He would never dance with you.
Sweat trickled from your forehead, your chest heaving as you landed the ending pose for the dance, your arms high above your head and your leg pointed out in front of you.
"That was decent." Jimin stated, handing you your towel.
You sent him a hard look, before snatching away the cloth from his hand and running it over your damp face.
"Well, the dance is meant for two people." You reasoned. "Maybe if you danced with me it would help."
You watched as he raised a single eyebrow in amusement, clearly finding your annoyance funny.
"I don't think you're quite ready to dance with me just yet." He said.
"Why not?" You snapped. "I've done it before."
Jimin hesitated.
He began to search his mind for any kind of excuse he could come up with.
In all honesty, Jimin believed that you were a beautiful dancer-one of the very best...But something within him couldn't bear to dance with you again..The first time the two of you danced there was something between you. Something powerful and beautiful. Almost like electricity.
When he held you so intimately and his hands caressed you as if the two of you were lovers..He could feel something that he hadn't felt with anyone else.
And that terrified him.
Every time your skin brushed his he could feel it. Every time your eyes landed on his it was as though you put him under some kind of magic spell that could only be broken if you looked away.
Jimin had never felt this way in his life. It was completely new to him. New and scary.
He wasn't the kind to settle down and he knew you weren't either. You were hard-working and determined to reach your goals in life.
You reminded him of his younger self. You were so full of wonder and hope, you were prepared to take on any challenge that the world would throw your way.
He used to be just like you..before his accident.
When Jimin broke his leg everything came tumbling down. His whole future fell into pieces in a single moment of unexpected weakness.
After that day, he has never been the same...He lost all motivation. Even when the doctor gave him the okay to dance...he never really got over it.
So when you came into his life...so full of life and beauty...he didn't know what to do.. and if he was honest...he still didn't.
So he tried to avoid dancing with you.
Because when he danced with you...he felt like his old self.
"Getting cocky are we?" He managed to ask.
You tilted your head.
"I'm not getting cocky. I'm just having trouble understanding how I'm supposed to get the dance down if you won't dance with me."
The silver-haired dance master crossed his arms, sighing.
"You'll get it." He stated. "You just have to keep practicing."
You scoffed.
"No amount of practice is going to make up for the fact that you aren't there!"
Jimin swallowed hard, your words hitting him in a way he wasn't expecting.
"I just don't think you're ready yet-"
"What is this?"You interrupted, motioning between the two of you.
The dance master blinked a few times, his eyebrows crashing together.
"I-I don't..." His words trailed off, his heart racing.
"You said you would help me." You began. "You said that you would dance with me and help me to get better, but all you've been doing is watching. You haven't danced with me since I asked you to teach me. The showcase isn't far away and I need you now more than ever."
He nodded his head slowly.
"I know that.." He stated softly.
You studied his features for a few moments before speaking again.
"This may not be important for you, but it's everything to me." You said. "I know we have our differences and that we don't get along very well, but we have to put that behind us..."
You paused, running a hand through your hair.
"If you don't want to teach me anymore then just say so."
Jimin's brown eyes snapped to your form instantly at your words, his body stiffening.
"I do want to teach you." He said. "I'm sorry that I haven't been teaching you to the best of my ability....I promise that I will do better from now on."
You eyed him for a few seconds, considering his words.
"Is there something bothering you?" You asked.
Jimin shook his head.
"No." He lied. "I've just been tired. I promise everything is alright, Miss Y/l/n."
You rolled your eyes at the flirty tone in his voice, turning on your heel and marching towards your dance bag.
Jimin furrowed his brows as he watched you pick it up and sling it over your shoulder.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
You grabbed your water bottle, taking a quick swing before speaking.
"I have plans tonight." You stated pointing to the clock. "It's seven fifteen."
Park Jimin hummed in response.
"Right." He popped. "We'll continue this tomorrow?"
You nodded.
"You'll dance with me this time right?"
He nodded his head, letting a quiet chuckle escape him.
"Of course." He said. "I wouldn't pass up on such a beautiful opportunity."
A/N,
Hello!
I know this chapter is short and it's been a long time since I've updated, but I don't really have access to a computer right now and I have to use my Max's laptop and she is always on it, because she's updating her own work...A.K.A TKT, The Seven, Dynasty and Some Kind of Therapy.
She came down to Pennsylvania to see me, so we could work on this book, she's always writing and I barely get the opportunity to write my own stories. *sigh* but ya gotta love her.
I hope you enjoyed!
