Sniper couldn't find any streams anywhere. The only thing that was there, was cacti, sand, and dirt.

Oh, wait, cactuses have water stored in them! Sniper thought. He grabbed his kukri and sliced a part of the cactus off. He grabbed his flask with his other hand and flinched with pain, remembering his broken arm. He ignored the pain, however, and put the flask up to the cactus to let the water pour into it.

He got the flask filled and shoved the piece of cactus back where he sliced it off from.

"Good as new," Sniper announced to himself. He put the flask up and started to walk back to the gorge.

Sniper ran into a few zombies on his way back, but he just killed them easily.

Soon, he was back at the gorge. Scout was in the same place he was when Sniper left him, except he was asleep. He still had the rifle in his hands, and his hat was tipped down a little bit, covering his eyes.

Sniper crept over to Scout, trying not to wake him up, and carefully took the rifle out of his hands.

While Scout was still asleep, Sniper wanted to gather wood to make a fire. He looked around for dead bushes and cut some branches off. He trekked back to the gorge.

Scout was awake when Sniper got back to the gorge.

"Where were you?" Scout asked.

"Gathering wood for a fire," Sniper replied. The sun was finally setting for the day, which painted the sky all sorts of colors. Red, orange, yellow, and pink.

Sniper placed the wood on the fire and lit it. He sat on the opposite side of the gorge than Scout.

"Did you get any water?" Scout asks.

"Yes, do you need any?" Sniper asked.

"No, but you do," Scout responded.

Why does he care about me this much? Sniper thought. He opened his mouth to argue, but Scout wouldn't let him.

"Don't. You need water as much as me. Take a drink." Scout insisted.

Sniper sighed and took a small sip out of the flask.

"More," Scout stated. Sniper took another sip out of the flask. He stood up, walked over to Scout, then sat next to him. He gave the flask to Scout.

"Take a drink, too." Sniper insisted. Scout took the flask and took a few sips.

They watched the fire as its orange flames danced against the night sky. The stars above them shimmered and glowed, brightening up the sky.

"Sniper," Scout started, and Sniper looked at him, "the whole reason I didn't want you to go alone was that. . ." Scout paused and glanced up at Sniper.

". . .that I didn't want you to get hurt." Scout finished.

Sniper pulled Scout into a hug, and Scout immediately accepted the embrace and hugged him back.
