The next morning, Medic woke everyone up. He told them all to follow him, and ask no questions. Sniper thought it was kind of suspicious. They soon reached this dark-looking house on a hillside.

They made it up to the door, and Medic reached out his hand to knock, but before he could, the door opened. It revealed the same masked man that had handed Medic that note. "Come in." The man said in a deep voice, which was muffled a bit from the mask. He opened the door wider for the mercs to enter the house.

Sniper was a bit suspicious of this house, and why Medic had taken them there. Once all the mercs were inside, the masked man shut the door. The house looked nicer on the inside than it did on the outside. "Medic, why did you take us here?" Sniper asked in a whisper.

"The note. He knows how to heal Scout and bring us back home!" Medic whispered back.

"And you took his word for it?!"

"I. . . uh . . ." Medic was at a loss for words.

"He could've just said that so he could kill us!"

"I assure you, I will not harm anyone of you." The masked man must've listened in on their conversation. "But yes, you shouldn't have taken my word for it the moment you read my note. In any other situation, you'd be dead by now." Medic looked down at his feet, embarrassed.

"Medic, you idiot!" Soldier boomed.

"Yes, I know my mistake, and I'm sorry for it!" Medic stated. "Dummkopf."

"Scout, please follow me." The masked man said, then started walking over to the entrance of another room. Scout followed, but was confused, "wait, how do you know my name?"

"I know many things." He said, "just kidding, your friends were whispering really loudly." Soon they were in the room, and the man shut the door behind them.

"What is this?" Scout asked, confused. He was expecting some sort of lab or hospital room, but it was just empty with one light hanging from the roof. The only strange thing was a red button on the wall next to the masked man. The man took off his mask and hood. It revealed a man in a suit. He had gray, almost white hair, with a matching beard.

"W-who are you?" Scout asked.

"Someone who can help you." The man said. "Come with me, and I can cure you of your sickness." He pressed the button next to him which opened a portal on the farthest wall.

"Go in." The man said.

"Do I have to leave my team?" Scout asked.

"Yes, but you have to make a choice. Die from your sickness which will spread to your friends and kill them as well, or come with me and live."

"I don't believe you. I don't trust you. I'm not going with you." Scout refused.

"You must go in."

"No, I'm not leaving them!"

"I'm sorry, I truly am, but you've given me no choice."

"What are y—?" Scout started but was cut off by a hit in the side of his head.

✖️✖️✖️

Scout woke up in a white room. The side of his head hurt, so he couldn't see as clearly yet. Scout tried to bring his hands to his head and rub it, but something was blocking him. Oh no. . . Scout didn't want to look down. He already knew. His sight got clearer but got blurred by his tears forming a few seconds later. He was in a straight jacket. In a padded cell.

"Help!" Scout cried. He didn't want to be trapped here, especially all alone.

"Screaming won't help you." Said a voice that sounded familiar to Scout. The door to the cell opened, and someone walked in.

"You!" Scout screamed. It was the masked man. "Let me out of here, asshole!" He charged at him. He was almost there when he was stopped by something. He was sort of leaning there. Scout looked behind him. He was on a chain connected to the wall behind him.

"Why am I here?" Scout asked with anger.

"As I explained to you before, you have a sickness that is highly contagious once it reaches a certain stage. I had no choice but to lock you up here." He said.

"And if I'd cooperated?"

"You still would've ended up here, or in a lab, being tested on." The man chucked.

"Once my team finds me here, they'll kill you and burn this damn place to the ground!" Scout yelled, but it hurt his throat.

"Careful, yelling too much will cause you to lose your voice," he smiled, "and in a few days, you'll become blind in your left eye."

"Goodnight!" The man said cheerfully. The man left the room and the lights turned off.
