"Bruh, I'm downtown in the lock up. Can you come get me? And call my Dad."
Bryan was half asleep as he sat up in bed. He looked over at Leyah laying next to him, her skin glistened from the morning sunlight coming through the window.
"What the fuck bruh, where you at?" He pulled on his sweater and looked for his jeans on the floor.
"I'm in the county jail, get my Dad." The phone disconnected.
Leyah woke up from the sound of Bryan's voice panicking.
"Hi Mr Wilson, it's Bryan here. Justin told me to call you he's in trouble. He's at the lockup downtown."
His father was furious, "What?" He yelled in disbelief.
"I don't know, he just called me and asked me to let you know. I'm heading down there now, I'll see you there."
Leyah came out of the bathroom her hair tied in a ponytail wearing his t-shirt, "What's going on babe?" She asked yawning. She was so perfect in Bryan's eyes, it was her first time spending the night with him and he didn't want to leave her side, but he had no choice, Justin wouldn't hesitate if he was in the same situation and he knew that.
"Justin's locked up." He announced. She sat on the arm of the chair with her mouth opened in shock,
"You stay here babe, I'll go get him. Don't leave okay." He bent down to kiss her forehead while holding her hand. "I love you."
"I love you too." She responded. He let go of her hand and walked out the front door.
Bryan was talking to the officers at the counter when Mr Wilson arrived, "Where is he?" He asked Bryan. Bryan gestured towards the officer who wouldn't give him any information about Justin because he wasn't related. Mr Wilson, asked to talk to the deputy in charge and then suddenly things started to move, paperwork was processed, and Justin was being signed out. Money talked, Bryan said to himself.
Within twenty minutes Justin came out of the cell and Mr Wilson posted bail of ten thousand dollars. Justin was being charged with battery and assault. His father had to reread the charges he couldn't believe that his girlfriend Kara was charging his son.
"This is preposterous!" He bellowed at the officer who handed him the paperwork.
"Sir if you yell like that again in here, I will be arresting you too. Now leave!" The fat officer behind the counter yelled back at him.
He walked out the door, he stopped and turned around and pointed at him "You haven't heard the last from me, I will have this whole department reprimanded."
Justin walked towards his father's car, the driver jumped out and opened the door for him. Justin looked tired and weak. His once rosy cheeks were pale. His hair hung over his face and a light beard was growing. He bro hugged Bryan, and his father drove him away.
Bryan got into his car and looked at himself in the rearview mirror, feeling sad for his friend. Fuck Justin, what have you done this time? He said to himself. His thoughts then turned towards his beautiful girlfriend waiting for him at home, he started his car and headed back home.
He opened the door and he saw Leyah in his kitchen looking through his cabinets. He came up from behind her and hugged her.
"Is everything okay with Justin?"
Bryan sat down on the chair, "yea his Dad got him out on bail. His father's girlfriend is charging him with battery and assault."
Leyah scrunched up her face in disbelief, "what? No way, Justin couldn't hurt a fly."
