Two detectives sat in the room with Bryan, detective Johnson and detective Cody Miller. Detective Johnson was in his fifties and detective Miller was new to the force, he was around twenty five and he knew that he had a lot to prove.

"Tell me Bryan, do you remember anything about the car the assailant was driving?"

Bryan looked at them still confused. "No." He couldn't remember anything.

"Like we said earlier on, their may be CCTV along the highway where you were shot and were still looking into that."

Doctor Martin had told them that they should've waited for a couple days before seeing Bryan, but as soon as they got word that he was awake they were there by the afternoon.

"Now do you remember anything about the shooter at all?" Miller pressed for more information.

He shook his head again, as he still lay there attached to a catheter and ventilator because he wasn't strong enough to breathe completely on his own. He closed his eyes and the nurse came in.

"We're going to have to try and get some food inside this young man."

The two detectives got up from their chairs, holding their notepads. "If you remember anything Bryan, please call us straight away." Detective Miller put his card on the side table as they both walked out.

Justin had gone home so he could get some sleep.

Leyah, Regina and her father were still at the hospital in the cafe downstairs while the detectives were talking to Bryan.

Once the detectives left, the whole football team filled the room. Bryan tried hard to be present and alert but could only manage five minutes of trying to smile at his teammates. When coach Benjamin announced that Bryan was drafted by a team in Atlanta the team made so much noise that the nurse had to come in and give them a warning. Bryan couldn't keep his eyes open from all the medication, so the team finally left when they noticed Bryan had fallen asleep, coach Benjamin touched his arm, "come on son pull through, you got a bright future."

Michael saw Leyah walking back up to see Bryan when he and the team were leaving. "Hey Leyah, how are you?"

She stopped while Regina and her dad kept walking.

"Oh, hi Michael, I'm okay, just praying, you know." she sighed.

"Let me know if you need help with anything." He said genuinely.

"Thanks," she smiled and turned to one of his teammates who she heard say, "shit if I had that, I'd hurry up and get the fuck outta' that bed." the other guys laughed and pushed him jokingly.

Michael smiled at her and walked away embarrassed by his friends.

Leyah made it back to the room, Regina and her Dad were talking to the doctor outside.

Leyah bent down and kissed Bryan on the forehead. "I've got to go now baby and look after our babies I'll come and see you tomorrow."

He tried to open his eyes. but he couldn't.

Regina came in as Leyah walked over to her and hugged her. "I'll see you later."

Bryan put his hand out, "please stay baby," he said forcing himself.

Leyah turned back to him and walked over to him, she kissed him and sat back down next to him. She waited for him to fall asleep, then she left.

Leyah arranged all the fragrances and opened new testers from a box, she was physically there but her mind wasn't. All she could think about was Bryan, but she had to get back to work to make money to support her kids.
