Chapter Fifteen - All Alone

Leyah got up, it was her day off from work today and she had to go in for her final scan, she stayed over Justin's house in the spare bedroom. He wasn't there when she woke up, "Justin," she called out to him. Her appointment wasn't till twelve thirty so she wasn't too stressed out about being late. She went downstairs to see if he was there, she could hear voices coming from the room in the back where Justin spent most of his time with his mom when she was alive. "Justin" she called again as she got closer to the room, she heard a woman's voice,

"I love you Justin," she said.

He responded telling her "I love you too, but it's not going to work with him still here!" He screamed.

Leyah got scared and quickly tiptoed away and made her way back upstairs. She was happy for him. She made up her bed and jumped in the shower, she stared at her body naked in the mirror, she loved the size of her belly. She put on her jeans and maternity top that looked like a tent. "If I ever become famous" she said to herself, "I'm making fashionable maternity clothes." She grabbed her bag and came downstairs again.

Justin was there making her breakfast. "Hey handsome," She giggled.

He smiled at her, he was wearing his robe and his hair was hanging in his face. Leyah sat down and felt her stomach, one of the babies rolled around, her stomach moved like a tidal wave. She took a breath, it felt like she had grown overnight. "So what scan is this for?" Leyah asked him. Justin put eggs in her plate and buttered the toast for her.

"Um, this is probably your final scan. They will check the twins and make sure that they have turned. But it doesn't matter if they haven't because they can still turn before you deliver. So mainly checking the size and position." He knew everything about her pregnancy he was so smart, Leyah thought.

"Justin, so are you going to tell me who your special someone is?" She asked sneakily.

He snickered, "well you of course Leyah." He grinned back at her.

"Melissa?" She asked.

"Definitely not." He said sternly.

"Then, who?" She asked curiously as she ate the toast.

He laughed and turned away, putting the pan and plate in the dishwasher.

She shook her head as he ignored her.

Leyah went in for her scan and the doctor admitted her immediately to hospital, the twins were in distress.

Justin held her hand while she was laying in the hospital bed, she was hooked up to a monitor and the two heart beats were racing like galloping horses. Leyah's pain was unbearable. Justin had been by her side all day, tending to her every need.

"No seriously, tell me." She started to breathe in and out as the pain came over her like a wave and then slowly went away.

The nurse walked in, "how are you feeling honey?" she was a small Asian lady who looked like she was head of the birthing unit, she ordered everyone around.

Leyah's mother, father and brothers arrived, her brother Kalil was nervous for his sister.

"Are you okay baby girl?" Kalil asked her.

"Yea, I'm just in pain," she said taking another breath of the gas. Kalil and Kane didn't like Justin much, they thought he spent too much time around Leyah. Kalil and Kane stood by the side of Leya's bed. Kalil was getting nervous as he watched his sister scream.

Leyah's father took them to the waiting room when he saw that their face had gone pale.

Leyah started to laugh at her brothers because they always acted so tough, and now they couldn't handle her giving birth. She squeezed Justin's hand till it was red.
