Chapter 13

"What now?" I asked, looking at the guy's body.
"Well, I guess this guy should be cremated with flowers and due respect.." Kygo said, chuckling.
"Oh, yeah!" I growled and he straightened.

I ran up to Emily's room and brought the backpack, along with my gun. Walking down the stairs, I looked at Emily who looked weaker than ever, holding a glass of water in her hand.

"What did Hugo say?" I raised an eyebrow.
"The call isn't reachable. I'll try later. Here, your phone." He said, giving me my phone.

I nearly jumped in happiness.

"Hey Emily, sit down, relax! Everything's alright. Kygo's here okay?" I said, wearing my bag and hugging her.

"Okay, I'm leaving. Em, I'm off to Zaan's place, okay? Kygo will stay here and look after you." I said, looking at Kygo, mouthing a 'careful' and moving towards the door.

I took two steps and heard a grunt.

Ah Kygo! Time for some drama!

"You.are.not.going.alone. Isn't that clear? Didn't you just see what happened now? I'm coming with you. Emily, you come, too."

"We don't have a century to finish the work Ma gave. I hit the gym this morning too. If you won't let me alone, when do you think I'll be capable enough to handle weapons and mafia by myself?"

He looked at his gun and back at me, worried.

"You look constipated man! Go chill! Load bullets in this-" I said, flinging the gun at him.

"I already have one, but give me yours too." I said, my hand involuntarily touching my back where I hid my gun.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine. I'll give you a call in case-"

Crash!

The glass Emily was holding fell, shattering into a thousand little pieces and the next second I knew, she fainted.

"Emily!" I screamed on top of my lungs, shaking her.

I never had seen Kygo this worried. He started rubbing her hands and slightly touching her cheek.

Maybe he has a 'thing' for her.

"Kygo! Take her to the hospital. Now, goddamnit!" I yelled.

He picked up her Chevrolet keys and unlocked with a 'cling'. He then carried her bridal style and walked towards the door quickly. He turned to me and said - "In case of trouble, you know what to do. The gun is on the table. Leave. Be careful."

Now was the time I had to react.
I ran up to the fridge and grabbed some water. I picked up her Mini Cooper's keys and hid a gun in my boots.

She's gonna kill me when she comes to know I touched her Mini Cooper. Nah, who cares?

I switched off the lights and locked the house, leaving the keys under the bonsai tree near the wind chime. I entered her car which was parked at the back gate and entered the driveway.

The clock in her car read 10:48pm. The road was eerie. I drove as carefully as possible. However, I wasn't a bit worried about Emily or Kygo as I was sure Kygo can take care of her like a fiore.

I connected my phone to the USB and turned on the music. Señorita by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello was on, diverting my mind from Lorenzo. Picking up my phone, I called Ma but her phone was engaged. I left a voice mail-

"Ma, call me when you are free. I'm at work. See you soon, love you." Saying this, I threw the phone aside and continued driving.

As I neared his driveway, I saw lights and drinks everywhere. Music was blasting from every corner of his extra luxurious mansion.

Wow! A party!!

Not caring a bit about what I was wearing, I picked up my backpack, checked my phone, left it back in the seat and dashed into his house.
