How Did We End Up Here

Chapter 10

"The sun will die  Caroline, but you're my sun and I'm your earth. If you die...I die with you, I would want to spend the rest of my life with you. That's the thing Caroline...you can't stop death but you can for sure make it beautiful. Caroline I love you and I want to be with you....will you marry me?" These cheesy and over rehearsed words came out of my brothers mouth as he knelt down on one knee in my dad's house. We were having a congrats party cuz' my brother hit the big shots for his baseball thingy. I have no idea what that means but he's going to be playing for the red socks .

Literally everyone is here, from family to baseballers and coaches to people in our school who remembered him.

I've been living in this shit hole for  2 weeks and summers gonna be over in 1 week. I've just been home texting Luke and the guys the entire time. Abby and Navea came over once though.

We stared at Caroline the beautiful girl my brother had been dating since he was in high school, dating for 4 years ago. Caroline was speechless and had tears in her eyes. Instead of saying yes she held out her hand for him to slip the ring in it.

"Yes yes yes!" she managed to breathe. Electrifying cheers filled the room. I was so happy for my brother, the former school bad boy was finally getting married.

"Now let the party begin!" My father says raising up his beer. For this freaking large mansion there was hardly even any breathing space. Some girls here from my high school look like sluts.

I'm playing it innocent by wearing a long sleeved tight black dress that stops mid thigh and a red and black flannel tied around my waist.

I took a sip out of my soda and swayed to the music. When I dropped my glass on the table there where arms around my waist almost instantly and a chest pressed against my back and a faintly sweet kiss on my cheeks.

I turned around to see who it was and with no surprise it was "Luke!" I shouted pulling him into a bear hug.

"Excited are we?" he teased.

I kissed him fiercely, it's been two weeks since I've seen him.

"What are you doing here you know you're not meant to be here my dads gonna kill you!" I whisper shout while hitting him on his chest. He roars in laughter and puts his arms back on my waist.

"Now what's the fun in doing what your told?" he smirked. I rolled my eyes and looked at him draining every inch of his perfectly sculptured face. From his lips to his eyes.

Those very very blue eyes.

He grabbed my hand and led me out the room. "Come on I wanna show you something." he said. We had to hold our hands tight so we wouldn't loose each other in this crowd. "Where are you taking me Hemmings??"

I breathe.

"Hold your horses will ya." he says. We climb up a few more stairs then reach the elevator that leads to the balcony. "After you m'lady." he says quirkily bowing his head down and his hands to the door.

He closes the elevator door and gives me a wicked smile. "What?, elevator sex?" I ask unenthusiastically. He laughs and presses the "B" button which stands for balcony.

"Luke why didn't we just take the elevator downstairs, you know I hate walking." I say leaning on the wall. "Cuz' it wouldn't be as fun as this." he pouts, making his way to me slowly.

"What are you doing?" I ask afraid as he makes his way towards me. "Hemmings don't you dare!!" I say but it's too late, he starts tickling me and I can't breathe. "Stop stop." I manage to breath. After he let go of me I bobble in my spot and land on his chest. "Bastard." I spit jokingly.
