"You aren't trying," Luc says, looking down at me. I groan and roll over. I stand and get ready to go again. Luc says, "Focus."

I nod and he throws a punch. I duck it and charge in fast. He moves over easily avoiding the wild attack. He grabs my hand and throws me down. He commands, "Focus. You're not an ape. Don't throw your shit around."

I laugh and stand. I take deep breaths, trying to calm the fire in my lungs. I say, "This isn't fair. You have been doing this way longer than me. Eleven years compared to my eleven minutes."

"Yes, I have experience, but so does everyone in this war," He informs me as he hands me a gun, "I need you to try, Ariel, or you're going to end up dead."

"Yeah, as you stated before," I say sarcastically. I take the gun and shove it into my leggings, then ask seriously, "The war is about me, why would they try to kill me?"

"It's not only about that," He replies, "Jax knows you're my weakness. He knows I'm going to be worried about you every battle we have. He will try to take you from me simply because of that. He needs me weak. However he can do that, he will."

I sigh. He has a point as always.

"Again," he orders.

He throws a punch again. I concentrate on his movements. I grab his arm, pulling it sharply. He stumbles a little for a split second. Before he regains his footing, I step around him and throw him over my shoulder. I pull out the gun that I shoved into my waistband. I level the gun at Luc and he smiles. He says, "That wasn't too awful. You definitely need to get faster at it-- including drawing the gun. I could have run or shot you by the time you got it out."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm not used to having a gun in my pants," I say sarcastically.

He stands smoothly and says, not in the mood for my sarcasm, "Get used to it. Because next time you have one it will be loaded, ready to shoot, and you will have to pull the trigger. "

I nod and he lines up ready to go again. He says, "I'm going to put in some resistance this time. Okay, my beautiful?"

"Yeah," I agree with a nod. My heart flutters as he calls me his, just like always.

He smiles and throws a punch. I avoid it and grab it pulling. I hook my leg around and roll him over my hip. He grabs my shirt and pulls me down as well. I land on him. I sit up and glare at him. He is smiling because the barrel of his gun is against my side, but his pupils have dilated from something else. His eyes flicker from my face to my chest. I glance down to see my flannel has unsnapped down the front leaving me exposed.

I go to button it back, but Luc stops me. His hands take mine gently. He pulls me closer and kisses me. Softly. I pull away slightly and then bring my lips back to his. This time I heat the kiss up. I bite his bottom lip tugging slightly. He gives a quiet, breathy groan. His tongue brushes my lips. I gasp and part my lips slightly. His tongue explores my mouth. My hands trail across his skin. I want to know every inch of his body.

His hands run gently, softly across my face. His finger tips leave a trail of fire on my skin. I pull away from his lips to get air. He flips us over so my back is to the ground.

His lips brush across my neck. I shiver and he kisses gently in a pattern until he hits a spot that makes my hands clench against his chest. He softly teases the skin on that spot and I breath out slowly, trying to calm my insides. He sucks on the skin tongue running over the skin. He gently nips at the skin. My breathing comes out in a whimper.

He pulls away from my neck and kisses his way up my jaw. My heart flutters and my breathing hitches. His lips touch mine softly. The contact sends shivers through my whole body. He pulls away and whispers, "We have to go."
