"Sometimes I just wanna kick him in his abnormally large head."
"HEY" I SEE CEDRIC waiting by the Common room doors. It's the second day of classes, and I actually have good classes today.
"Hey."
He slugs his arm around my shoulders, making me almost fall from the sudden weight.
"Damn, Ced, why are your arms so heavy?"
He rolls his eyes.
"Gotta get those gains." He flexes his arms, and I laugh making a weird face.
"Ooh... please don't do that, you're embarrassing me!"
"Oh, whatever." We both laugh."Oh, I for got to ask. How was your first day of potions with...." I make fake trumpet noises, earning weird glances. "Professor Snape!" He laughs wholeheartedly. "You're weird, you know that?"
"But that's what makes me so awesome!" He ruffles my hair, and puts his arm back around my shoulder."No, but seriously how was it?"
"It was... Snape." I roll my eyes.
"Wow Cedric, you're so good at descriptions.""How was Ancient Runes?"
"Dreadful." Now he rolls his eyes.
"Wow Bella, you're so good at descriptions." He quotes me, in a weird voice."I mean, what do you expect? Malfoy is a huge git and I know no one. Sometimes I just wanna kick him in his abnormally large head."
"Bella, that's why You need to make friends. How do you think we became best friends? I attempted to be friends with you and you rolled with it. Boom, it's that easy!" I roll my eyes.
"It's not easy when you're surrounded by Slytherins."
Cedric and I were what everyone called The Dynamic Duo. Our friendship was what everyone wanted. And I was grateful for that. Grateful for Cedric.
We reach the great hall, and sit at the Hufflepuff table.
"Ced, you took Ancient Runes one year, didn't you? In your third year?"
He nods, and scoots over, his head peeking over my shoulder at the paper I'm looking at.
"So the Acromantula represents 5, right? But that's not a choice."He finishes chewing then swallows.
"That's because Acromantula represents 8, not 5. 5 is Quintaped."
My mouth makes an "o" shape. "Ohh... oops."I quickly scribbled down my answer.
"So, th-"I hear the screech of owls and look up.
"I guess it's mail time." Cedric states the obvious.
"Why is it so early? We just got to breakfast." He shrugs.
"I really don't want to do this, so I'm just gonna save my brain the time and do it later. Besides, It's not like I'm gonna get anything anyway, so I'm gonna go see Potter for a second. See you later?" He gives me a sympathetic look before replying.
"Yeah, of course. I'll save you a seat."
"Bye.""Bye." I grab my stuff, and walk over with one last smile. But not before I hear, Cedric's friends whisper,
"Dude, you totally like her!"
"No I don't!" He says defensively.
I smile upon hearing that. That's silly, Cedric is my best friend, I don't see him as anything else.I waltz over to the Gryffindor table, and lay my bag on the bench as I sit down.
"What's up pothead, weaslebee, and Granger?" I smile at my friends.
"Really? Hermione Just gets called Granger, and we get Weaslebee and Pothead? You're such a bully." Harry whines, trying to hide a smile.
"Well, Hermione's my favorite." I joke, taking a biscuit from the golden tray."I knew it! You owe me two Galleons!" Hermione says, sticking her finger in Rons face.
"Wha-? You guys are ridiculous!" I laugh.
My eyes shift around, and land on Professor Bathsheda, walking out of the great hall."Hey, uh guys? I'll be right back." I quickly and messily grab my stuff, putting the biscuit on Ron's plate, and stand up.
"But you haven't had breakfast yet-"
"I'm not hungry. You know what, I'll see you guys later."
I rush out of the Great Hall, following the Professor."Professor! Professor Bathsheda!" She turns around upon hearing my yelling, which hurt my voice by the way.
"Yes, Ms. Arabella?" She is quite tall, so I strained my neck to look up.
"I have a question, um... why did you call me Ms. Wood? The other day?" She looks around wearily.
"Follow me."The Professor leads me down corridors, and from what I can tell, I think we are heading in the direction of Dumbledore's office. I've never been to his office, but it's probably filled with tons of magical and old things.
She whispers a secret passcode, and some stairs unravel.
We walk up and into this big open space, books on every wall, a tray of candies on a big mahogany desk, a tall stand up cage with the Phoenix, faux, inside it.
"Wow. This place is wonderful.""Professor Bathsheba! How nice to see you!" A booming, yet soft, voice sounds. Obviously Dumbledore.
"Hello, Albus. I believe it's time."
Both professors nod. "Very well, you may go, and you know what." Bathsheba heads out the office.
Dumbledore goes behind his desk, and sits down in the big chair."Professor... what am I here for?" He brings out a glass dish, and sets it on the corner of his desk.
"Lemon Drop?" He ignores my question.
"D-" I look behind me at the opened doors, and see a familiar Seventh year Gryffindor boy. He slowly walks over and sits in the chair beside me."Alright, we shall get started. First question, do you know each other?" We both look at each other.
"I've seen her in the hall a few times, but we've never really been acquainted." I nod.
"Same."He strokes his beard and pauses, probably thinking. Who knows what kind of secrets are hidden in the wise Dumbledore's mind.
"Hmm, okay. So I have a story I want both of you to hear. It is crucial that you pay attention. Are you ready?" We both nod, our eyes focused on the wizard before us. We lean forward in our chairs, in unison.
"Once there was a wizard and a witch. They fell in love, got married, And had a child. This child went to Hogwarts, when he came of age. But, when the boy was four, his mother gave birth to a girl, his sister. But the boy did not ever know of this sister, for they kept it from him with the use of various spells. They knew that their daughter would be powerful. They knew that people, certain wizards would look to destroy her power, or take it as their own.
So they had no choice. They had to send her away. They knew she wouldn't be safe in their world, so she was sent to another. She grew up there. Though she wasn't treated well, she found a way to get along. The only thing she had from parents, was a necklace."My hand goes up to my necklace. Could it be? I mean, a coincidence? I think not.
"Once she turned of age, she got a letter from Hogwarts, where she would be reunited with her brother." My heartbeat speeds up rapidly, and I know what is soon to come.
"That girl is you, Arabella. You are Arabella Wood." My eyes are so wide, I'm surprised they don't just pop out of their sockets."And... Oliver, this is your sister."
