"If anything, he's the great, ugly brute."
"I KNOW ITS QUITE a shocker, but I think you two are mature enough to handle it." Dumbledore's stands, hands together, waiting for a reaction."I... I'm speechless." I turn to Oliver, and we just stare for a little while.
Then I grab him giving him a tight hug. He nearly stumbles backwards, then puts his arms around me as well, hesitantly.I'm shaking and smiling all at the same time. I sniffle and chuckle.
"This is nice."
At this time, I am so relieved, shocked, happy, and a ton of other things. But mostly, I'm happy. Happy that I now know I have a family. Happy that I know where I'm from. Happy that someone cares.Oliver starts to break apart from the hug, but I hold on tighter.
"Just for a little longer." I say, hugging him tighter.
And then I break apart."It's just so... shocking." I say, staring at him in awe.
"Well I certainly do see a resemblance." Dumbledore says, nodding. I smile. I mean, I see it too. Brown hair, big brown eyes, pale skin.
"You both have your mothers eyes. Arabella you have your fathers nose." Dumbledore smiles."What? You must be mistaken-"Oliver starts.
"And, why do you say that?" Dumbledore interrupts him.
"Why would my parents keep something like this from me? They wouldn't. It can't be true.""Your parents are not obligated to tell you everything, Mr. Wood. You will soon find that more secrets shall unfold."
"With no disrespect sir, I think you've got the wrong person. There is no wa-" my smile starts to falter. Maybe he was right.
"Oliver, come with me." Dumbledore places a hand on his shoulder and guides him across the room, away from me.
I fiddle with my hands as they talk, Dumbledore looking surprisingly very serious.
After a minute or two, they approach me, Oliver looking down at the floor. He takes a breath then looks up.
"I would like to get to know you better. Would you be free to go to Hogsmeade this weekend?" I think for a moment. Yes, it would be nice to know him better. But, I don't have a signed permission slip. Cedric's father, Amos, was on a business trip and couldn't sign it for either of us."I would love to, but my slip isn't signed."
Oliver looks over to Dumbledore.
"Do you think we could share a slip?" Dumbledore gives a smile, nodding his head.
"Then that's that. Would you like me to walk you to your class?" Oliver offers, nicely.
"Sure, if you don't mind."
"Goodbye, Professor.""Oh, one more thing Arabella" Dumbledore makes eye contact with me, "This necklace is very special, and you may not need it now. However, it is very important that you never take it off, nor let it out of your sight. You don't yet know the true value of it. But, just know that when falling into the fire, think blue. Good day now!" He shows us out of his office, me being very confused.
