Ava
My head is pounding. I am beyond confused. After Crowley escorted me out of the restaurant and into his car, I daydreamed to distract myself. Then I passed out. Now, I'm awake. He doesn't know it because I haven't opened my eyes yet.I've never been good at confrontation. I'm terrified that if I open my eyes, I will have to confront Crowley about his eyes and the information he and I exchange in the ladies bathroom. Then again, if I don't get answers to my many questions, curiosity will kill the cat.
I opened one eye at a time. The car wasn't moving. Wait, why aren't I in the front seat of his Bentley? Where am I?! I looked around at my surroundings. I'm in bed. This isn't my bed. The sheets are tangled around my body, and I thrashed around to free myself. My breath is heavy, and my chest is moving up and down quickly. Where the fuck am I?
I looked around more. "Aziraphale?" I called. "Hello?"
I heard footsteps approaching the closed door. Fuck, someone's coming. I armed myself with a pillow, prepared to throw it at whatever or whoever walked in the room. The knob turned slowly, and the door squeaked open.
"Ahh!!" I screamed as I threw the pillow at whoever is in the doorframe. I dashed to the door and managed to slide past the person. I heard footsteps behind me, which only caused me to run faster.
Next thing I know, someone's arms started to snake around my waist. "No, no, no!" I screamed.
The person turned my body around, so I was facing them. My legs hooked around his waist, and my arms are holding onto his neck. He slid down the wall onto the floor and held me. "Shh, you're okay. You're okay." An accent said.
I looked at who is holding me. "Crowley?" I asked.
"Uh-uh yeah, yeah hey."
I put on my best angry face. "Where am I?"
He began to explain that once I fell asleep, he didn't want to take me back to the bookshop because of how busy it can get. Instead, he brought me back to his apartment.
I crawled out of his lap and sat beside him on the ground. I mumbled a thank you. Me, being the nosy person I am, decided to get up and walk around. I felt his eyes on me as I headed down the hall. He followed me but kept his distance. I wandered into a room filled with plants. I noticed that once Crowley walked into the room, the plants started to shake violently.
"It's like their afraid of you," I remarked as I looked at the beautiful plants around me. Crowley chuckled in response.
He cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck. "Uh, uh, so yeah, Aziraphale should be here in two hours, after the bookshop closes, so the three of us can, you know, talk about things."
I looked at my toes. "Yeah, today has been one hell of a day."
"Don't worry," he assured me, "all of the questions you have will be answered."
I looked up at him and noticed he's standing closer to me now. I could almost feel his breath on my cheek. I smiled at him, and for the first time, I saw this mysterious man smile. I bit my lip and felt the blush creep onto my cheeks. He's leaning closer now. What do I do? I started to panic and stepped back, crashing into a plant and knocking it over. Crowley's gold eyes widened, and anger took over.
"You bloody idiot!" He screamed, "Do you know how hard I work to make these plants the best in London?" He ran his hands through his hair frantically as he knelt to clean up the mess I made.
"C-Crowley I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to do that! Oh my god, please let me clean it up! Let me help!" I tried to pick up the pieces of the broken pot, but he pushed me away.
He growled when he looked at me. His eyes weren't gold anymore. They're bright red. "Fuck off!" He shouted at me.
My lip started to tremble. I've already cried a lot today, and I refuse to give him any tears. I stood up and walked out of the room. I don't know where I'm going, but I need to get away from him. I pulled my cardigan tight around my body. I never realized how cold it is in his apartment. I never realized how cold Crowley could be.
I managed, somehow, to find the living room. At least I think it's the living room. I don't know. A big chair sat in the middle of the room across from a window overlooking London. There's a large glass table in between the chair and window. I sat down in the chair and curled up in a ball.
This day has been hectic. So much has happened! It's unbelievable. I wish I knew what time it is. I still have a headache from the stress. I haven't had the time to process everything. I vaguely remember Aziraphale disappearing into thin air. Crowley and I have the same eyes, but different colors.
Crowley was so lovely to me today. He even tried to be comforting. Now he's mean.
I groaned. "When the hell did my life become so complicated?!" I asked nobody.
"Maybe when I came into it." A voice said from behind me. "You're sitting in my throne." It added.
I rolled my eyes. "Crowley."
He walked over to the table and leaned against it, facing me. "Don't act so cold, love."
I ignored him and stared out the window. He shifted uncomfortably and opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out.
"Look." He started, not making eye contact. "I didn't mean to yell at you and call you an idiot. Accidents happen." Crowley shrugged.
I scoffed. "Is this your attempt at an apology?"
He looked around for something to set his gaze on. "Y-yeah. I'm sorry."
