Edmund groaned slightly as his eyes opened. He quickly shut them again as the sunlight hit his face. Even though it was almost nighttime, the sun was really taking its time to set. Edmund sighed slightly as he tried to remember what happened. Him and Peter had stopped Jadis and Miraz, he'd gone back into the how, walked to his room and then had gone to sit outside. Edmund didn't remember falling asleep at all. All of Edmunds questions where answered when he suddenly tried to move. He struggled slightly as he realised he could hardly move at all and that he seemed to be sat on the floor . He glanced down to see ropes around him, tying him to a tree. This brought back many painful memories to Edmunds mind as he recalled his first visit to Narnia and the witch's torture towards him. He struggled against the ropes even more as he attempted to loosen them, unfortunately nothing seemed to work. Edmund thought for a moment before realising he must've at least been gone for a few hours. "Oh no.." he muttered, knowing that Peter was probably planning to do something reckless to save him. Not the he judged his brother in any way, but Edmund knew how protective Peter could be.

Even though the weather was peaceful, the atmosphere was not. Jadis' army and the Telmarines soldiers were preparing weapons all around him, constantly being ordered around by Miraz. The one person Edmund hadn't spotted yet was Jadis, which came as quite a relief to him. He was terrified of her but definitely refused to show it. Miraz was stood only a few feet away from the tree Edmund was tied to, discussing something with three of his soldiers. "Hey!" Edmund shouted, causing Miraz to turn around to face him. Miraz chuckled slightly at how helpless Edmund looked. "Why am I here?" Edmund asked. Miraz took a step closer and knelt down so that he was at Edmunds height. "I thought it was obvious. We want to stop a narnian uprising and we also want to take you and your siblings power. We're gonna use you to make them surrender to us" Miraz explained. At this, Edmund started to struggle slightly, wanting to get free. "But why just me? If you easily took me from the how, why not take all four of us?" Edmund asked. "Firstly, we realised we only needed one of you to make the others feel weak and secondly, we took you because you just happened to Jadis' least favourite." Miraz said.

"Peters a close second" Miraz added. "Yes well she's gonna hate him even more when he finally finishes you and your army off" Edmund replied, a small smirk appearing on his face. Edmund didn't have any time to react before Miraz angrily hit him across to face. Miraz then suddenly winced slightly as his body hadn't fully healed from the injuries peter had given him. His other hand suddenly grabbed Edmund by the neck. "When your brother and sisters do surrender, I'll make sure to make Peters death long and slow" Miraz threatened. Edmund just glared at Miraz, not being able to move out of his grasp. He suddenly let go of Edmund and stood back up. "Jadis should be out soon. I'm sure she'll be very pleased that you're here. " Miraz explained. With that, he turned back to his guards. "Jadis' soldiers have told me they spotted the youngest in the woods. She should pass through this way if she's on her way back to the how. If you see her, bring her to me. I know Jadis said we only needed one but having two really would disadvantage the Narnians" Miraz said quietly to the men. But Edmund had overheard him.

"Lucy..." he muttered to himself, realising who they were talking about. "Don't you dare go anywhere near my sister!" He shouted as she struggled more against the ropes. Miraz laughed as he ignored Edmund and walked back into a tent to discuss things with his soldiers. Edmund sighed as tears formed in his eyes. "Not Lucy...please aslan don't let them find Lucy...keep her safe..." Edmund begged, praying the lion could hear him from somewhere.
