Without Me by Halsey
Found you when your heart was broke I filled your cup until it overflowed Took it so far to keep you close (Keep you close) I was afraid to leave you on your own
I've known Dallas Winston since his days in New York. I found him when he was going through a rough patch in his life. I made it my goal to not let him out of my sight just to make sure he was okay and wouldn't do anything stupid... alone. I did everything to make sure he was going to alright. I even went so far to moving to Tulsa with him.
I said I'd catch you if you fall And if they laugh, then fuck 'em all (All) And then I got you off your knees Put you right back on your feet Just so you can take advantage of meWe promised each other that we'd always have each other's backs. We even started a real relationship together. When we told everybody we were leaving they laughed and said we wouldn't last. I remembered as we drove away from the crappy old apartment building I gave them all the bird. It's just me and Dal. I smiled to myself thinking that I had been the one who got him here. I picked him up and got him back on his feet. Sure we had our low points. We were both very hot headed and when we argue sometimes things are said that we didn't mean.
Tell me how's it feel sittin' up there Feeling so high but too far away to hold me You know I'm the one who put you up there Name in the sky Does it ever get lonely? Thinking you could live without me Thinking you could live without me Baby, I'm the one who put you up there I don't know why (yeah, I don't know why) Thinking you could live without me Live without me Baby, I'm the one who put you up there I don't know why (I don't know why, yeah yeah)
When we got to Tulsa I called up an old buddy of mine, Buck. He said he had a room me and Dally could stay in. We moved in and were set. I introduced him to a few people as I met them. He really hit it off with them. Eventually it got to where he didn't even need me to go out and party every night. He's really up on his high horse now. I bet he doesn't even realize I'm the one who got him there and that I'm still here. I've never left him. I usually kept to myself when we hung out with our group of friends. It consisted of a handful of different greaser boys. All who were loyal to one another. A true family.
You don't have to say just what you did I already know (I know) I had to go and find out from them So tell me how's it feel (oh-woah)
One night I walked home to Bucks place. Dally was supposed to pick me up from Soda's place but he never came. Darry offered me a ride but I refused. It was raining and I honestly needed time to think. I think the best when it's raining. Everyone seemed to know something I didn't tonight and it was odd. I decided I'd ask Dal about it when I got there. When I arises the party was in full swing so I figured Dal would be getting himself a drink. But when I got there I only saw buck. "Hey man do you know where Dally is?" I asked. His face fell a little. "I think he went up to his room. But you don't want to go up there. I think he had a girl with him. She lead him right up there like it wasn't her first time. I'm sorry Y/n I tried to talk him out of it, I was going to tell him to think about what it'd do to you but she was too drunk wouldn't let me near him. I'm so sorry." Buck said. I ignored his warning. It was mine and Dally's 3 year anniversary, now it'd be our last. I stormed in to see him and Sylvia making out on our bed. He always tried to flirt with her when got drunk. I walked over to the closet and grabbed a duffle bag. I began to pack my stuff. Dal was over by me in less than a second. "Doll, let me explain." He pleaded. "You don't need to. Buck told me he saw you two come up here together." I said tears forming in my eyes. He continued to plead with me as I threw my stuff into a bag. The skank sat there watching like an idiot. When I was finished I took an envelope out of my back pocket and handed it to Dallas. "Happy anniversary." I said grimly before walking out leaving him dumbfounded. I slowly walked back to Soda's place with his brothers. I knew I shouldn't be out like this in the rain but I couldn't care right now. I got to there and knocked on the door. Darry answered it. "I'm guessing he didn't take the news very well?" He asked with sympathy. "I didn't get a chance to tell him. He was making out with some girl when I got there." I said as I made my way over to the couch. "Well you can stay here as long as you need to and we will try to help you, both of you, however we can." Darry said before walking off temporally. When he came back Pony was following him in his pjs with a pillow and blanket in hand. "Go take pony's bed, he's sleeping out here for the night." Darry said. Usually I'd argue but I was too tired to. I changed in the bathroom then went into the room Soda and Pony shared. I climbed into Pony's bed and covered up. "You know if you're trying to hide from him, he'll find you tomorrow if you're here." Soda said. I rolled over to face him. "Yeah, but I ain't leaving. If he wants to trade me in for a slut so be it. He's just going to have to watch me have this baby without him. He won't get to see it once it's born either. He's a two timing pig and I don't have time for that. I need family and that's what I got here and I ain't leaving it."
