Electric Blue Glow

For some reason, Mikaela and Sam got to go with Bumblebee on the way back to their house, but Ivi got stuck with Optimus Prime. Of all the Autobots, why him? She sat quietly in his cab as he drove, hoping she would not have to make conversation. Or better yet, maybe she would melt and not exist anymore. That would be nice as well. "May I know your name?" Optimus rumbled, causing her heart rate to spiral out of control.
She was sure he wasn't trying to scare her, but he still did. "Uh, Ivi. Ivi Lennox."
He stayed quiet in a thoughtful silence before saying, in an kind way, "My apologies for bringing you and your friends into this mess, I wish it were not necessary."
So did she, big guy, so did she. Ivi fiddle with her hands for a moment. "Well, it would have been inevitable. Samuel is my brother."
Her cheeks reddened as she remember Ratchet's earlier statements. Hopefully, Prime hadn't thought Sam had any feelings for her. That would be super gross. "Don't human kin normally share the same surnames?"
"I'm adopted."
"Adopted?"
Maybe they didn't have orphans where he was from. An idealistic thought, but it was better than the reality on Earth. "Erm, Yes. Adopted. Sam's parents became my brother's and I's parents when my real parents could no longer take care of me."
That was such a sucky way of saying that, especially since her parents would have taken care of her still. It's just they weren't given the chance to continue doing it. "Why could they not take care of you?"
Should she tell him? It still hurt to remember, and she was sure an alien robot did not want to hear her life story. Thankfully, the house came into view and a moment later she was able to jump out of his cab and join Sam and Mikaela. Her friend darted her eyes between her and Optimus and Ivi shrugged. "You guys all stay here, just be quiet. Five minutes, all right?" Sam begged, starting to head back to the door.
Their father approached it and Mikaela and Ivi ducked behind Iron Hide. Knowing her father's vision, he wouldn't be able to look beyond the porch, but they could never be too careful. Sam somehow said something that made their dad go away, and came looking back at the autobots transforming and causing a commotion. Why? There was no reason to be robots right now! Ivi put her hands above her head, frantically watching the aliens moving around their backyard. "Ivi, your eyes," Mikaela hissed.
Obviously Ivi was freaking out if she was starting to leak light again. Not entirely her fault, but the autobots didn't need to know, so the girl covered her face. It's okay, it's okay. Soon it would all be over and they would leave. But did she want them to leave? They were funny, and somewhat kind. Well, Bee and Optimus were nice, although curious.    The jury was still out on the others. Right now, Ivi didn't want them near the house. Her parents would freak worse than she was. Speaking of freaking, she knew it wasn't getting any better as her power began to thrum in her veins. Things were going to start moving if she didn't calm down. The girl took a deep breath and counted backwards from ten. Nada. Why would it work? If it didn't work on kids, what made her think it would actually work then? At least she gave it a shot. Ivi sighed and focused her attention on Sam as he started telling the Autobots off. "What are you doing?" He asked through gritted teeth.
"No! Watch the path?" The teens begged, but Optimus didn't hear them.
Or maybe he didn't care. The giant robot stepped right down onto the fountain their mother had recently installed. Oh no. They needed to fix this and fast. Ivi pushed her brother to the back door. "Shut up and go hide!" She hissed at the Autobots.
Maybe none of them saw her glowing blue eyes leaking gold smoke. It was terribly inconvenient. They searched through his room quickly, but he started repeating 'no' over and over, throwing papers up as he looked for the glasses. That was when Optimus brought Mikaela up to the window in his hand. "Time is short," he said.
Ivi thought she told them to go hide, and was half tempted to glare at him before giving it up in order to look for the glasses. "Yeah, no. It's definitely gone," Sam said after a little bit.
"What do you mean?" Ivi asked, feeling a bit of gold light escape her hands and his books lifted up.
"Quit it. My glasses were in the bag, and now the bag isn't here."
"So, so they're going to be pissed," Mikaela stammered, stealing a glance at the Autobots outside.
Sam rushes to the window. "No, no, no. What is this? This isn't hiding!" His voice went just a little bit higher.
"I can't deal with this!" Sam went on and on until Optimus said, "Calm down. Calm down."
As if that was going to help. A poster was ripped down as Ivi's nerves started getting the best of her. "I have to go," she whispered, walking out and to her room.
Her power pulled everything down from the walls and she clutched at her head, trying to calm herself. The rushing, the running around, the screaming. It wasn't good for her, not when she was in poor control of her abilities. Ivi stood once more and her eyes fell on her mother's necklace. All at once the things stopped being knocked over. Good, this is good. She put it on and was walking back when the house began to shake and she practically fell down the stairs. The girl whimpered as she twisted her foot and the lights went out. There was no winning with this day was there? Her parents were quick to come upstairs, and at first they were concerned about her, then they saw the bright light coming from underneath Sam's locked door. Damn, what were they doing now? Her father began the whole counting act, but Sam wrenched open the door just before he was done. The light was now gone. It had been one of the Autobots. Of course.  "Who were you talking to?" Their dad asks, straining his neck trying to see around the door.
"I'm talking to you," Sam muttered, his eyes begging for Ivi's help.
"We saw a light and we thought-"
"There was no light! Look you have two lights in your hand!"
Smooth Sammy, smooth. Ivi slips away and heads down stairs to find her brother's backpack sitting on the counter. Seriously? The girl groaned and was about to take out the glasses when a strange feeling filled her body. That was when she heard Mikaela's voice. Oh dear, at least the Autobots would be in the clear. Still, that strange feeling mixed with dread as it only got stronger, and her eyes snapped to the door. Instinct got the better of her and she used her power to flip the lock on the deadbolt. Someone was outside. Curiously, she saw the Autobots pulling out of the backyard and driving off. Something bad was coming if they were leaving without the glasses. Sam came rushing down and pulled the glasses out just as someone rang the doorbell for an obscene amount of time. "They left," Ivi mouthed to her brother, as their father opened the door to reveal a guy in a black suit.
He had a sneering face and disgusting hair style, while more men in dark suits stood behind him. This can't be good. "Go," Sam says into her hair in a fake hug, then he slid the glasses case into her grip.
She frowned, but one more look at the men in suits had her heading for the back door. More guys greeted her in the backyard, but she knocked them over with a simple wave of her hand. The power surged out of her, and she was finally relieved of the overwhelming wave. None of them were hurt, but they were stunned just enough for the girl to take off running away from the house. She had no idea where she was going, just that she was getting away. The men had recovered, it seemed, as they were now sprinting after her with vengeance in their eyes and curses on their lips. Ivi vast one look behind her and stopped, waiting for them to come to her before she threw them back again. This time with a little extra push so that it would take them longer to recover. She was finally able to get away and several blocks went by before the girl finally stopped running. Where the hell had the Autobots gone? Just as the question popped into her head, Bumblebee pulled to a harsh stop in front of her, opening his door. "Get in loser!"
Ivi complied and the fire in her lungs was finally extinguished as she took a steady breath. Bee took off in a hurry and they were soon joined by Optimus and the others on some bridge, where the robots all transformed and hid themselves under the bridge infrastructure. "We will get the children," Optimus promised.
Ivi flashed a grateful smile and stayed as still as possible on the leader's shoulder. Now all they could do was wait. She could feel the leader staring at her as he clung to the bridge sides, but she said nothing. The attention was a bit odd. She hadn't done anything to earn it, although maybe it could just be that he's not used to humans. Ivi finally turned her head to look at him and was immediately captivated by his blue eyes. The leader seemed to frown, though, and said, "Your eyes were glowing earlier."
Ivi laughed. So he had noticed. That was fine, she was too tired to try and hide it. "Yeah, it happens sometimes," Ivi smiled.
The girl swore she saw him almost return it, but then Iron Hide warned them if the approaching vehicles holding Sam and Mikaela. "Stay here," Optimus ordered as he set her down on the side of the bridge.
Then, the Autobot simply stood in the middle of the road and let the first SUV run into him.
