Chapter 9 - Secret

Present

After the Commander has had an earful criticism. He demands a private meeting with some people who were there before to discuss Female titan.

"Erwin, I'm sorry I haven't completed my report to you" Hange hesitates.

Erwin "What is it?"

Hange "Something did happen. After we caught her, Annie I mean, before she was rampaging, Uum.. How do I put this?... I believe she stared at (Y/N) for a second. Moblit confirms he witnessed the same thing"

Erwin goes quiet with a very grim look.
Levi steps closer to his table "What's with that dumb look? Is it not something you have calculated in mind?"

Hange added "And, I just read the report, I didn't have time before. So..."
Levi interrupts "Oy Hange! Just get to the point."
Hange sigh "(Y/N) is a wall Sheena resident"

Everybody in the room was surprised. and they will be more as the Commander added "I know that one"

Hange revolts "YOU KNOW?! You didn't tell me anything when you ask me to put her in the formation. How do you know???"

Right before Erwin answers.

"I'm sorry sir. But, I believe she is wall maria refugee too. And she said that her family died on the attack" Armin added with his flat tone and unblinking scared eyes.

"I know that her family are still one of the noble in the inner wall" Erwin answers.

Suddenly Hange gets into her thinking mode "Wait... It wasn't just a rampage. Annie swung his leg to (Y/N) direction first. Did she intend to kill her?"

Levi "What are you saying?" asks flat. In this moment, Levi starts changing his prejudice on you.

"Never mind, I'll confirm with the others after this" Hange assures them all.

"If she wants to kill (Y/N), isn't (Y/N) somebody we must protect?" Armin asks briefly.

"That's right! I trust (Y/N)!" Eren added excitedly. Eren is actually annoyed as the conversation started with the suspicion on you.

"Eren, are you close with (Y/N)?" Erwin asks.
"Yes sir. We are pretty close."

Erwin looks around at the others to know what they're saying about it.

Armin "Yes, they are, they seemed to share the same idea and goals" Mikasa nods in agree.

Eren "Huh??! What do you mean?"

Emphasising quietly, Armin "Uum.. that.. about killing all titans in this world"

At that time, Levi raises his eyebrows. He starts to be assured that you are more than enough to be a safe person.

"Then, Eren could you get information from her about her background. But don't make it too obvious" Erwin commands.

Hange quickly walks to Erwin. She remembers that she has forgotten the most important thing.

She takes a deep breath

"About that. Erwin... she is in the ward right now. Uum... critical... ? How do I..."

Erwin and Levi are shocked.

Levi exclaims with his deadly glare "Is she unconscious?"

Hange becomes unsure and gives unnecessary details in response. "It turns out a hook pierced her back, couple ribcages broken and her kidn.."

"You just tell me now Hange???" Erwin snaps but quickly back in control again.

He then pinches the corner of his eyes. "You are all dismissed" and... He is the first person to leave the room.

In the room

"Hahaha I believe we are not really dismissed, yet" Hange with her forced grin.

"Are you stupid shitty glass??..." Levi seems upset. He is about to get angry as Hange leaves out the most important detail for too long.

Eren suddenly tries to neutralise the conversation "But, something is not right. Commander Erwin asked her name that night."

Hange "Eekh? Can you elaborate more?"

"I had a brief encounter with her after Commander's speech about joining survey corps... Ah! Sorry Hange! He didn't ask her name directly, rather he waited her to say her name herself. But I answered it instead" Eren explains seriously.

"Hmm. It's not like Erwin lies. We just need to fill in the blank later. Now let's wait" Hange responses.

In the medical ward

The commander has arrived at the medical ward and went straight to the doctor. "Is she here?"

"Who do you mean she?" She is apparently really busy and annoyed at such rushy and unclear question.

"Oh, that girl?" She yells while showing Erwin the way to where you are right now.
"What happened to what I told you? No physical activity for two weeks! And what do I get?!"

Suddenly she stops at a room without a door where people can see straight at what lies in it.

"There was no other rooms... thanks to you. Now, let's we all pray to the three walls" The doctor leaves Commander Erwin who now freezes up his steps directing his sad blue eyes at you who lays on the bed...
