Chapter 13

Omega

Dream :

I was in a huge room. In front of me was a throne in which a man sat. He had dark black hair which had red streaks. His was pale, almost white. he wore a plain black cloak. His eyes were like charcoal, blackish grey. And they were staring right at me. Suddenly, I felt weak. Like my soul was being ripped off of me. The man laughed evilly. "the great commander, Omega! Welcome! as you can see you are in my throne room. I am Destruction! Your father's brother." the man said. I stared at him in shock. I didn't know that my father had a brother. As if reading my mind, he said, "you didn't know Chaos had a brother, did you?. Everyone say that you are so hard to break. What will it take to break you, demigod?". I scowled. "well, you should listen to what everyone says then. Because nothing can break me!" I said defiantly. Destruction laughed again. "no, no, no. I will find out. I will. Send my brother my regards. Until we meet again, Omega." he said and my dream dissolved.

I woke up with a jolt to see Luke shaking my shoulders. "Rise and shine, Soldier. The day's young." Luke said in a mock strict voice. I got up quickly, saluted said, "sir,yes sir!". We both laughed. Luke left to let me change and I quickly put on my clothes, a black V- necked shirt and jeans. I reached for my cloak and remembered that I no longer needed it. I had to see them. I couldn't hide any longer. And she was going to come and see me whether I did or not. I joined Luke and together we headed down to the arena where we saw many senior campers training. It surprised me to see even Connor Stoll ferociously hacking at a straw dummy. All movements ceased as soon as we stepped in. Their eyes found me. I could just feel them trained on me as I walked. And then Ryan decided to be a jerk. His leg shot out to trip me but of course I jumped over it and landed a side kick to his ribs. The whole place burst into laughter. Ryan turned red. He was practically steaming. He stomped out of the room just as she came in. I stiffened. Luke noticed this. "Come on, Perce. Loosen up." he said, patting my shoulder. "I can't loosen up when they are all staring at me. Especially her." I growled. Luke held up his hands in surrender. I ignored them all and started dueling with Luke. Normally we would have preferred to do this in our own Training room at the Chaos cabin but Chiron had insisted that we should set an example. Yeah, right. Luke lost. Obviously. But he was still as good as me, just not better. We trained a bit more and I decided to think about Atlanta's birthday. I didn't know what to get her. I asked Juniper who said to give her a piece of bark. I almost went crazy thinking about Atlanta's expression. I even asked Chiron who wanted me to gift her Frank Sinatra's Best hits. I realized if I wanted my sister to live long, I would rethink about that. Luke wanted to come with me. I don't know what gift he had got but I was sure that it was going to spoil my sister a innocent soul. And I finally decided that I would take something from my own domain. The sea. I jumped in not bothering to take of my shirt. Too late did I realize that Posiedon would sense my presence. A bright blueish green light filled my vision. I shielded my eyes. When I opened them again, I saw an old man floating I'm front of me. My ex-father looked worse than ever. Of course I wouldn't care much about him but he was once my father a long time ago. "Percy." he croaked. His face started to change. He looked younger and I felt the sea brighten considerably. "What do you want?" I asked, glaring. He winced. "I'm sorry, Percy. I shouldn't have done what I did. That was the greatest mistake I've ever made. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me." He said and before I could reply, he turned into bubbles and disappeared, leaving me stunned. I tried to forget him and started to search the ocean bed for any unique stone or shell. I stopped short when I saw something that caught my eyes. It was blue shell with silver streaks on the curves. It looked better than any other shell I had seen. I could do something with it....maybe if I could find a another similar piece...

HALF AN HOUR LATER

Aha! Found you! I tried to do a small happy dance but the water made my movements sluggish. I grabbed the shell and made it back to the surface just in time for lunch. "Where were you? I was searching for you every me here! Heck, the whole camp was! we thought you were kidnapped or something!" Luke said dramatically. "really Luke? Me? kidnapped? Nah, never in a million eons. I was just hunting for Atlanta's birthday present." I said. I didn't notice the blonde standing behind me until she spoke. "who's Atlanta?". I was going to turn back and snap at her but Luke helped me. "why do you care? Still think you got a chance with him? No way. in your dreams." Luke sneered. I stifled a laugh at the look on her face. When she saw me turn back, she smiled. My smile melted. I felt a stab in my heart. I could have been the happiest person on the planet. She ruined. He ruined it. They all ruined it. I turned back and made it to the chaos table.

DURING DINNER

Alpha

Percy was being unusually quiet. He always cracked jokes and laughed at the table. He was growling at the pizza. "Jeez, Percy what did the pizza do you?" I asked trying to make him laugh. He stopped growling and offered me a small smile. "nothing. I was just thinking of something. I need to talk to Chaos. I had a dream last night." he said loudly and everyone stopped speaking. Percy stood up. "I will tell you about it after I talk to Chaos." he said and jogged off to the chaos cabin. After lunch I went off with the Stoll's to prank the Athena and Ares cabins. it had been a long time since I had done that. I thought back to my conversation with my father.

Flashback

I appeared in his room on Olympus. He was talking to someone on his phone. He stopped when he saw me and cut the call. "Luke." he said and rushed forward to hug me. I did the same. It was probably the first time I was hugged by my father. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." I said, my voice muffled. He pulled back and stared at me, his eyes glistening with tears. "no, Luke. I'm sorry." he said. We both chatted for awhile and I left.
