"Hey, can I ask you something?"
Dean looks up from his phone, and Lucas stops staring at the football field.
"What's up?" Lucas asks.
"Do you guys ever just... Look at people?" I ask.
"What?" Dean asks, and he frowns.
"Well, you know. Just observe people. Look at their faces, and their eyes, and just think about that" I explain.
"What do you mean?" Dean asks.
"Well, for example, you're taking to a friend and you look at their eyes and realise their eyes are very brown but they're kind of gold in the sunlight, and then your stomach starts acting weird so you try to stop but you just can't" I explain.

"That's what I feel when I look at Jay" Lucas says, and he laughs. I laugh too, and shake my head.
"No, it's not like that. It just keeps happening to me lately".
"With one person or multiple?" Dean asks.
"What?"
"Well, do you only have it when you look at one specific person, or do you have it with all people?" he explains. I frown.

I don't just have this with Owen, right? I have it all the time. I have it when I look at other people too. I once had it when I was looking at Logan! I mean, it was because I was thinking about Owen, but that doesn't count. Right?
"Landon?" Dean asks, studying my Face closely. I look over to Lucas, but he's staring at Jay now.

I'm about to open my mouth to say something, when the bell rings.
"Oh, well. Time to go" I say. I jump up, swing my backpack over my shoulder and walk towards the school. Dean and Lucas don't immediately follow me. I assume Dean is trying to pull Lucas away from the football field, where Jay is standing now.

I start looking for Willow. My free time is usually decided in two parts. First hanging out with Dean and Lucas, then with Willow, Logan and Alex. I find them quickly.
"Hello!" I say, with a smile.
"Hi!" Willow says back. "Guess what?"
I tilt my head a little, and look at Logan and Alex. They both look a little annoyed.
"What?" I ask.
"It's almost my birthday!" Willow cheers, and she throws her hands in the air.
"Oh, really?" I ask. She nods. "Two weeks".
"Yay!" I say.

Logan sighs, and looks at his girlfriend.
"Now you can stop saying it" he says. "Everybody knows already".
"But it's almost my..."
"I know, Willow. You know why?" Alex asks. "Because it's also my birthday. But you don't see me yelling it at everyone".
"It's your birthday too?" I ask. "What a coincidence!"
Now the entire table is silent, and staring at me. I don't understand why for a few seconds, but then I realise.

"Oh, right" I say. "Twins. Sorry, I'm tired, okay".
Willow laughs, and shakes her head.
"Oh Landon" she sighs. "You're not the brightest, are you?"
"We knew that already" Logan says. "No offense".
"None taken, you're right" I say, and I sit down.

"Are you going to have a party?" I ask Alex and Willow. They look at each other.
"I don't know" Willow says.
"Definitely" Alex says.
Logan sighs.
"You don't have to come if you..."
"Bullshit!" Alex cuts Willow off. "It's our birthday Wills, and he's your boyfriend. He has to come".
Willow stares at her, a little insulted, and then looks at Logan. He smiles.
"Of course I'll come, it's your birthday" he says. Willow smiles too, and nods.
"Okay, but it shouldn't be too big. Don't invite the entire school please".

Alex rolls her eyes, and takes out her phone.
"Okay, Logan's coming... Landon, you too?"
She looks at me.
"Of course!" I say, and I clap my hands. "Who else is going to come?"
"We could ask Isadora" Willow proposes.
"Yes please" Logan immediately says. "Someone I can talk to".
"Oh, your cousin right?" I ask. He nods.
"She's cool. She's really good at maths".

"Okay, we'll ask her... My cheer team, obviously. Willow, should we invite the student body?"
"You know who leads the student body, right?" Willow asks. Alex stares at her, squints her eyes, and shakes her head.
"Not the student body..."
"Oh come on, James has apologized hundreds of times, and he's really nice. Can't you invite him just for me?"
Alex pushes her lips together, but sighs, and types some more words in her notes.

"Okay... Well, that's everyone I can think of that I know on a first and last name basis" Alex says, and she sighs. "Anyone else got any suggestions?"
"Maybe Landon has some more friends?" Willow says.
"Well, you could invite the volleyball team".
"Okay" Alex shrugs. She types a few things on her phone, and smiles triumphantly.
"They're all invited".

"But we don't have a location yet" Willow says. "Or a date. Where would we celebrate? Are we going to celebrate on our actual birthday? Isn't that a school night?"
"Calm down" Alex says. "Our birthday is on a Friday, so we're going to celebrate that night at the inside practice room for the cheering team".
"How do you already know that?" Logan asks. Alex grins.
"I just have to bat my eyelashes at the coach and he'll do anything I ask him too. He loves me. I'm going to go ask" she says, and she gets up and walks away.

"Well, I guess that's been planned out" Willow says, a little confused.
"I'm excited" I say, and I look at Willow. "I love parties. Oh, what kind of gifts should I get you guys?"
"Doesn't matter" Willow says. "You don't have to give me anything".
"And Alex probably has a list ready" Logan adds.
"Definitely" Willow confirms. The bell rings, so we get to class.

After school, I'm surprised to see Dean standing by my locker. He usually puts all his stuff in his gym locker, because Lucas puts his stuff there so he can stare at Jay.
"Hi!" I say, and I walk towards him. He nods shortly as a greeting, but doesn't say anything. Instead, he just stares at my face.
"What's up?" I ask.
"I was wondering something" he says. "Can we talk?"
I frown, but nod.
"Okay" I say. "Let me just put my books away".
