It's time for gym class. I love gym class, I like doing sports. I mean, sometimes we have to do something stupid like gymnastics, and the coach still doesn't like me because I was so bad at playing football, but other than that it's all cool.

We're standing in the PE hall, because it's too cold to go outside. I'm standing next to Willow, who's standing next to Logan. Logan looks like Owen. Owen who was playing with my hair while I was asleep yesterday. Owen who I was laying against while I was sleeping and who didn't want to wake me up. But also Owen who goes on a lot of dates with girls and is my friend's brother.

"Boys and girls, we're going to do something you're all familiar with today" our coach barks. We all look up. I'm bouncing slightly in anticipation.
"Dodgeball!"
"Oh no" Logan sighs. Willow pats him on the back supportively.
"You'll get through it" she says. "Just think about what makes you happy".
"Like?" he asks.
"Lucy" she says.
"Willow" I say.
"Dodgeball!" the coach yells, and he throws a ball in our direction. I catch it, and smile proudly. The coach doesn't look very excited about it.

"I expect you to listen to my explanation. There's a new rule today!"
Everyone sighs. I smile. I like new challenges.
"You are not allowed to touch the floor".
Everyone starts murmuring. The coach looks at me, and I throw him the ball, so he can throw it at other people that are talking through his lesson. He proceeds to name a series of gym equipments we're allowed to use, so we can stand on top of them. You're also allowed to stand inside a hoop, and if you can walk on your hands, that's allowed too.

"I'll make the teams".
Our coach never counts to make teams. He had this program he uses that distributes everyone randomly. I don't really mind it, I like talking to almost everyone, but most people are annoyed by it. I don't think Logan minds, he never participates anyway. I think that might be a reason a lot of people don't really seem to like him.

We all look at the big flat screen with the two teams on it. I look for my own name, then scan all the others of my team.
"Yay, I'm with you!" Willow says, and she smiles at me.
"Yay!" I say, and we high-five. Logan is on the other team. Everyone runs to the storage rooms to get our equipment, and starts yelling at each other for the most strategic setting. Me and Willow decide to retreat for our own safety. I don't really care what our setting is, I'll have fun anyway.

"Hi" Willow says when she sits down next to Logan. He's sitting on one of the benches, staring at the screaming people.
"Hey" he says. "I want to go home".
"Aw, come on. I'm sure you'll make it through without being hit on the head this time" Willow says.
"That's what you said last time" he sighs. "But guess what happened then".
"Sorry again" I murmur.
"That's okay" Logan says.

"Get up, we need this".
Kathryn is standing in front of us.
"Sorry" Willow and I say at the same time, and the three of us get up. Kathryn rolls her eyes, and moves the bench to her half of the field.
"She's strong" Willow says, impressed. I nod.
"She smashed a ball so hard one time it made a dent in the floor".
"Really?" Willow asks.
"Yeah, it's somewhere over... Here".
I point at a small, round dent in the floor. Willow and Logan walk over to it, and look at it.
"Wow" they say.

"Teams to their own halfs!" our coach yells. I quickly walk toward my half of the floor, and sit down on one of the bucks.
"Ready, set... Go!"
Balls start flying everywhere, hitting people on their heads, stomachs and other body parts. I manage to dodge most of them, until I get hit on my leg. I walk toward the last bench not in use, and sit down.
"Hey" Logan says.
"Did you get hit too?" I ask
"Nah, I just walked here immediately" he says, and he leans back.
I wait until the first round is over, while more and more people join us on the bench.

"That's it for today!"
The coach claps his hands, and everyone walks out of the gym room instantly.
"Wait! I need help cleaning..."
He sighs, and turns to us. We're the only three people left.
"You three, help out everything away".
I nod, and start moving things to the equipment room. Logan groans quietly, and starts helping too.

I shove a bench against the wall, and look up. Willow is trying to put a ball on top of a rack full of supplies.
"Ha, you're short" Logan says teasingly, and he takes the ball from his girlfriend.
"That's mean" she huffs, and she crosses her arms. "You're just tall".
"Enough babbling, just put the ball away!" the coach barks. He's singlehandedly carrying a pile of three mats to the side.

I turn back to my task at hand, putting the bench against the wall, and sigh. It's heavy, even for someone who does a lot of sports. Except for the coach. He could probably carry it above his head and spin it a few circles.

Suddenly, there's a loud sound of things falling down, and a dull thud.
"Logan?" Willow gasps. I turn around. Logan is sitting on the ground, wide-eyed, with his mouth slightly opened. His face looks a little pale, even through his tanned skin tone, and his arm is bent in a very strange angle.

"What ha... Oh dear".
The coach looks up.
"Kingston, get a janitor, Mantel, gather his stuff".
I nod, and run to the changing room.
"Landon, what's up?" James asks.
"Logan broke his arm" I say, and I start packing up his stuff.
"What?"
He gets a concerned look on his face.
"Yeah, some stuff fell on him. I was told to gather his clothes, so yeah".
"Oh" he says. "How's Willow doing?"
"She's getting a janitor now" I say.

I walk back to the gym room. There are a man and a woman standing over Logan now, and I can't see his face. Willow is standing a bit to the side, biting her nails. There are tears in her eyes.
"Willow?"
She looks up, and walks towards me.
"Hey, he'll be okay" I say, and I give her a hug. "There are hospital people coming, right?"
She nods. "They just called an ambulance" she says, her voice sounding thin. I pat her on the back, and sigh.
"He'll be okay".
