Norma looked at Romero and smiled softly. She then got up and started walking towards the door, not giving the sheriff a chance to stop her from going.
When Norma opened her front door, the pig stood in front of her. He was drunk. He held a bottle of whiskey in his right hand, the bottle almost empty. In his left hand, he held his gun.
"M-Mr. S-Summers," Norma stuttered, "what are y-you doing?"
"I'm coming to get my house and motel back! I'm tired of letting a slut run it and ruin it!" Keith yelled, as he started walking towards Norma.
Norma slammed the door quickly but Keith stopped it from closing and jumped on Norma. Keith dropped his gun and pulled his pocket knife out. Norma looked at him with wide eyes and tried to get out of his grasp but his body was keeping her hostage. So Norma did was she thought was best.
"Alex!" Norma screamed.
Keith laughed at Norma, "You're screwing the sheriff too? Wow, when is it my turn?"
"You better keep your mouth shut, Keith. Nor- Mrs. Bates and I do not have that kind of relationship." Romero stated, finally coming to help.
"What's your relationship then, Alex? I mean, if you guys aren't screwing each other then i'll gladly take that spot." Keith chuckled, then putting his hand under Norma's blouse.
Norma squeezed her eyes shut and begged that Alex would get this disgusting man off of her.
"Get off of her, Keith. She's done nothing to you." Alex snapped, losing his patience quickly.
"I came here to get my things back!" Keith yelled
"You're not getting anything back!" Norma snapped, finally.
Keith then dragged the pocket knife across Norma's pail skin, then turning it red with her own blood. Norma cried out in pain and that's when the usually calm sheriff, snapped.
Romero kicked Keith backwards and jumped on top of the man, throwing punches over and over again until Keith was nearly unconscious. Blood spilled from Keith's mouth, nose, and busted check.
"Alex! Stop! You're gonna kill him!" Norma cried, as she stood up and held her bleeding stomach.
She grabbed Alex's shoulder and pulled him off of Keith. Alex quickly stood up and looked at Norma. Her hands and blouse were bloody and she was breathing quickly.
"I think I should bring you to the hospital." Alex said, in urgency.
"No! N-no. I'm fine. It's just a cut. I'll live." Norma replied, walking over to the couch and sitting down.
"At least let me check it out. Please." Alex begged
"Fine. But i'm fine. I don't need a doctor." Norma said, in slight annoyance.
Romero rolled his eyes and lifted Norma's blouse up, right above the cut. There was a long cut, it wasn't deep, but it sure was bleeding a lot.
"We have to get this cleaned up. Where's your first aid kit?" Alex asked
"In the last cabinet in the kitchen." Norma huffed.
Romero looked Norma up and down, rolled his eyes, and went to the kitchen. Once he came back, Norma was looking at nothing. She was deep in her thoughts but quickly brought out when Alex cleared his throat.
Norma gave a small smile and lifted her blouse up above the cut like Romero had done earlier.
"This is going to sting." Romero said, wiping away the long cut with a wet wipe as he knelt in front of her.
Norma gritted her teeth and held her breath. Romero chuckled softly which shocked Norma.
"You laugh!" Norma laughed
"What?" Romero questioned, losing his smile.
"I like your laugh. And smile. You should do it more, sheriff. Then you won't scare the people of this town." Norma laughed, to her herself.
"I'm supposed to be scary." Romero replied, quietly.
Norma frowned and raised her eyebrows. She didn't like that the sheriff had to be so stoic. He always smiled when he was around Norma, not that Norma really knew that, but she always thought she actually made someone happy for once.
"Well," Norma started, "I don't think you're scary at all.".
Alex looked in Norma's eyes, neither of them smiled or said anything. They just held their gaze. Both of their hearts were racing, neither wanting to break the contact but when they heard one of the steps creak, Alex broke the gaze and looked.
Norman was walking down the stairs with his eyes closed. He was sleep walking. Norma went to stand up, but Romero turned his gaze back to Norma and shook his head no. He then stood up and walked over to Norman, guiding him back up the stairs, and to his room. He put the boy back in bed and tucked him in, then going back downstairs to Norma.
"Thank you." Norma whispered, to Alex who was now kneeling in front of her again and wrapping her wound with gauze.
Once Alex was done, he stood up and so did Norma. Alex then walked back to the kitchen and started cleaning the dishes like he said he would. Norma smiled softly.
"Alex," Norma started, "you don't have to clean those you know. I can just clean them tomorrow."
"I know, Norma. But I want to help out." The sheriff replied
"Well, thank you. You've been the biggest help ever." Norma said, softly.
"You're welcome." Romero replied.

"Thank you, for having dinner with us tonight. And helping out with Keith." Norma thanked
"You're welcome, and thank you for allowing me to have dinner with you and your sons. You're an amazing cook." Romero said, kindly.
Norma smiled, "Thank you, and you're welcome over for dinner any time you'd like. The boys would love it."
"Well just let me know. Here, i'll give you my number." The sheriff said, looking for his pen.
Norma grabbed a piece of paper from the stand in the hallway and a pen.
"Here," Norma laughed
"Thanks," Romero smiled, as he started writing his number down.
The sheriff handed over the piece of paper and Norma took it happily.
"Goodnight, Mrs. Bates." Romero said
"Goodnight, Sheriff. Sleep well." Norma said, leaning over and kissing Alex's cheek.
Romero smiled and started walking away. Norma closed her front door and went upstairs to her room. She smiled to the thought of Romero. He was clouding her mind. She was so distracted she had completely forgotten about the pig that got away.
