Norma woke up gasping for air. Her nightmares seemed to always be the same thing. She just wanted to forget. Her childhood ruined her. Always giving her horrible nightmares. She was a grown woman and she was still scared.
Norma looked at the clock, it was five in the morning. She sighed knowing she wasn't going to be able to fall asleep again, even if she was exhausted from everything that happened last night.
She then got up and looked at herself in the mirror of her dresser. She still had her long, brown hair. She's thought about changing it and today was the day she would do exactly that.
Norma walked over to her closet and pulled out a pale blue dress. She threw it on and brushed her hair, then going to the bathroom quietly and continuing her morning routine
-
It was now eight-fifteen in the morning and Norma was back in the bathroom after going to the store. She had her babysitter, Maggie, stay just incase the kids woke up, but Norma knew her sons wouldn't wake up until nine-thirty. They never woke up earlier than that.
Norma grabbed the box of hair dye and ripped it open, then grabbing the things she would need from inside the box. As soon as everything was ready, she looked in the mirror and took a deep breath. Time for a change.
-
After thirty minutes had passed, she rinsed her hair free of any dye and looked at herself in the mirror. Her hair was still wet. She had dyed her hair but something was still missing. She had at least forty minutes before her boys woke up or had to be waken up. She had time.
-
After some deep thinking about how she would do her hair, the perfect idea, popped up. She ran downstairs and into the kitchen to look for the spare scissors in the drawer. Once she had them, she quickly ran upstairs and shut the bathroom door once she was inside.
She smiled and laughed at herself as she looked in the mirror; she was crazy for doing this. Norma grabbed a hairbrush and parted her hair to the middle, then putting the scissors to her hair, and finally cutting.
She wanted short hair for a change. Long hair was just too boring and common and she wanted to look different.
-
With dried hair and a completely different look, she smiled to herself. She was now a beautiful, blonde woman. Her eyes popped more and her hair perfectly shaped her face. She looked like a whole new woman.
-
Norma was in the kitchen, setting the table with breakfast for Norman and Dylan. When she was done, she left a note by Dylan's plate saying that she was down at the motel. He was very smart for kids his age and that made Norma proud. Both of her boys made her very proud.
-
Norma left her house and walked down the never ending stairs. As she walked, she took in the scenery. It was dark outside due to the clouds, and the flowers were losing color due to it being the beginning of fall.
Once she was at the bottom of the stairs, she sighed and walked to the office.
She was always bored at work, but every now and then, someone interesting would come in.
-
Romero woke up to his phone ringing loudly. The piercing sound made him groan in agitation.
"Hello," Romero answered, to the unknown caller.
"You must think i'm done with her." The man said.
Romero sat up, his sleepiness fading quickly.
"Keith, don't mess with Norma. You'll be sorry if you do. Don't test me." Romero snapped
"I'm actually watching her right now, Alex. She looks nice. She also looks bored and unworried in the office. I should come pay a visit." Keith laughed
"Don't-"
"I can tell you like her. And not just in some friend type of way. You better keep an eye on her, i'm just saying." Keith interrupted the sheriff.
"Keith," Romero growled, "don't you dare touch her or even think about talking to her!"
"Watch me.".
And with that, the pig hung up. Romero threw his phone on the bed and quickly put on jeans and a t-shirt. He threw on his shoes and with that, he ran out of his room and quickly walked over to the office.
The bell ran over the door and Norma's blue eyes met the sheriffs beautiful brown eyes.
Alex took in Norma's new look. She was stunning. It made him lose all of his previous thoughts and just pay attention to her.
"Good morning, Alex. There's breakfast ready upstairs in the house if you'd like some." Norma offered, sweetly.
"G-good morning, Norma. I don't really eat breakfast." Romero replied
"Oh, come on. My kids can't eat all of it by themselves, and plus, I already ate breakfast." Norma said, looking down at a book she had.
"Norma, I don't know." Alex said, unsure.
"Come on," Norma walked from behind the counter and grabbed Alex's arm. "Let's at least check on the boys.".
Alex chuckled, "Alright, let's go.".
As they walked up the stairs, Romero glanced at Norma's new hair look, it still left him breathless.
"When did you have time to get a whole new hairstyle?" Alex laughed, softly.
"Oh, this morning. I woke up really early so I had time." Norma replied, smiling softly.
"It looks really nice. You did it yourself?"
"Um, yeah, thank you." Norma blushed, "I used to cut my own hair when I was younger, so cutting it was no problem." Norma explained, finally walking to her front door after all those steps.
-
"Norman? Dylan?" Norma called, walking through the second door.
There was silence. You couldn't hear silverware moving or small laughs or talking. Norma called again and walked to the kitchen with Romero behind her.
The kitchen was empty when she looked. The only problem was that the food was scattered around the table and the plates were broken.
"Alex," Norma whispered, looking at him worried.
Alex gave Norma a worried look. Norma than ran out of the kitchen and to the boys rooms. Both were empty. Alex looked in the living room, which was empty as well.
Both Norma and Alex met back up in front of the steps.
"W-where could they b-be." Norma stuttered.
Before Alex could say anything, both him and Norma heard talking coming from the basement. Norma looked at Alex and rushed off. Alex was right behind her.
