Norma pulled away quickly and jumped up from the couch. She didn't know why Zack was here, but if he was trying to take advantage of her being single and alone, then he was sadly mistaken.
"Zack, i'm not into you like that." Norma stated
Zack stood up and smiled, "Come on, Norma. You've gotta admit, being a widow gets boring and lonely sometimes. We can just have some fun together and then we'll stop talking all together."
"I need you to leave," Norma snapped.
She didn't need a man. She had her two beautiful boys and that's all she needed. And again, Zack wasn't much to her. Just the deputy sheriff.
Zack rolled his eyes.
"So much for me trying to get you to date me." Zack whispered, to himself as he walked to the door.
"Zack," Norma called, "I just don't like you like that. Deal with it.".
Zack rolled his eyes and walked out of the house, slamming both the doors to the house. Norma quickly ran up the stairs to check if the boys were asleep due to the loud noise.
To her delight, both of her beautiful sons were still fast asleep. Norma smiled and walked to her room, finally being able to lay down and rest.
-
Norma quickly walked into the police station and walked over to the glass barrier that the receptionist was sitting behind.
"Can I help you?" Regina, the receptionist, asked.
Norma gave a small smile and nodded her head, "I would like to speak to sheriff Romero."
"Alright, i'll let him know he has a visitor. I just need your name." Regina stated
"Norma Bates," Norma replied.
Regina nodded and grabbed the phone that laid next to her. She pressed a button and started speaking.
Norma sat down, waiting for the sheriff to let her speak to him. It felt like forever before Regina said she could go back to see him.
Regina pressed a button and Norma grabbed the now unlocked door, going through and walking to the sheriffs office.
-
Norma knocked softly and opened the door slowly, peeking inside and then fully walking in once the sheriff looked at her.
"Mrs. Bates, come sit." the sheriff said, as he watched Norma close the door.
Norma walked over to the seats and sat to the right, then looking at sheriff Romero in the eyes. She felt a flutter in her stomach but she just ignored the feeling. She didn't know what it meant.
"So," Romero started, "you wanted to talk."
"Oh, yes. Um, I just wanted to talk to you about one of your deputies. Pretty much what i'm saying is that, i'm here to make a complaint about him." Norma explained.
Sheriff Romero raised an eyebrow at her, "A complaint?".
Norma nodded and bit her lip, "So, um, last night, deputy Shelby came over. I let him inside just to be nice and he started flirting with me. He then, sort of, threw himself on me. Kissing me. I stopped it as soon as possible and-".
Norma stopped talking as soon as she saw Romero's hand go up.
She gave him a questioning stare.
Romero sighed, "I'll handle it. I'm very sorry that-"
"Sheriff?" Deputy Shelby called.
Sheriff Romero looked at the deputy irritated, "Can't you see i'm busy speaking to someone?".
Zack looked Norma up and down with a smile, then looking back at the sheriff who had noticed the look Shelby gave to Norma.
The sheriff wasn't one to show emotions but he couldn't help it. The look Shelby gave Norma enraged him. It even made him jealous, but he would never admit that.
"Sorry, sir. I just came in to tell you that Mr. Summers is waiting for you." Shelby responded.
Romero sighed, "Give me a second.".
Shelby nodded and glanced at Norma once more before closing the door.
Romero looked at Norma, no emotions visible, "I'm very sorry that my deputy offended you and...threw himself on you. Just trust me that i'll deal with it.".
Norma gave him a small smile and nodded, then standing up. Romero stood up as well, opening the door for Norma and walking her out.
As they left from behind the door that was alway locked, Keith Summers stood up and started glaring at Norma as he got closer to her. Norma looked him in the eyes and saw nothing but pure anger.
"You're Norma Bates?" Keith asked.
Norma nodded her head as she started to get aggravated by this man.
"You took my motel from me! What does a whore like you know about running a motel like that?" Keith snapped, angrily.
"More than you apparently. When I bought it, it was disgusting. An absolute pig-sty." Norma snapped, back.
Keith grew angrier and went to slap Norma but Romero grabbed Norma by the hips and pulled her towards him so she wouldn't get hurt.
Keith laughed at Romero, "You're so ignorant, Alex. You should've let me slap the sass out of her. She should know better than to talk to a man like that.".
Norma looked at Alex as he held her still. She then looked back at Keith and slowly escaped the sheriffs hold on her.
"Look you sexist pig, you should shut you big mouth before you talk to the wrong person like that. You're doomed if you think people are gonna take shit from a bully like you." Norma snapped.
Romero held back a smirk at Norma's response.
Norma turned and faced Alex, "Thank you for listening and helping out with my problem."
"Any time, Ms. Bates." Romero replied.
Norma smiled at him and left without a single glance to look back at the pig and the handsome sheriff.
