Norma slowly opened the basement door and heard Keith.
"Go under the stairs." Keith told the two innocent boys.
Norma cringed as she heard her sons footsteps as they had listened to the pig mans command. She then started walking down the steps and hoped Keith wouldn't hear her but to her absolute luck, the floorboard creaked under her foot as she had finally gotten to the last step.
"Well, well, well. It's about time you showed up." Keith laughed, "I heard you and your sheriff running around upstairs like chickens with their heads cut off.".
Norma rolled her eyes and looked at the steps. She saw Dylan hugging Norman tightly as they both stayed silent.
"I need a favor from you," Keith stated. "Well actually, we need a favor.".
Norma scrunched her eyebrows together as she looked back at Keith in confusion. Norma looked at Alex who had been standing next to her- he gave a confused look back.
Norma was about to say something back to the idiotic man but her eyes caught a figure moving next to Keith.
"Shelby," Norma whispered.
Alex was dumbstruck. Shelby? Of course it was him!
"Hi, Norma. Miss me?" Shelby asked
"What do you two assholes want?" Norma snapped, completely ignoring Shelby.
Shelby smiled and walked over to Norma. Alex pulled out his gun but Keith grabbed both children and looked Alex in the eyes.
"Give the gun to me, sheriff." Shelby said, calmly.
"Give me the boys first." Alex snapped.
Shelby nodded and Keith pushed the kids towards Alex. Both boys ran and hugged Alex's legs.
"Now the gun." Keith said.
Alex looked at Norma and sighed in defeat as he handed his gun to his deputy.
"A-Alex...take the boys out of the b-basement." Norma stuttered
"I shouldn't leave y-"
"Just, please- take them out now." Norma cut Romero off, giving him a look.
Alex hesitantly picked both boys up and both clung to him, looking at their mother as the sheriff walked them upstairs.
When her boys and Alex were out of sight, Shelby finally started.
"You're so beautiful. I don't know why you turned me down the other night." Shelby whispered, grabbing her jaw.
"And now what? You're screwing the sheriff? My boss?" Shelby snapped.
Norma shook her head no, "He's just a friend.".
"Don't lie to me!" Shelby yelled.
Norma whimpered, in fear.
-
"Stay in here. I'll be back with your mom." Alex said, putting the boys in the backseat of his SUV.
Both the boys nodded and Alex smiled. He then shut the door and opened the front door, on the passengers side. He opened the center console and grabbed his spare gun, then closing the door again and locking the car.
-
"Please stop!" Norma cried, as both men started ripping her dress off.
Both the disgusting men laughed. Keith then grabbed his infamous pocket knife that he always kept on him and stabbed Norma's hand. She screamed in pain and as the two men laughed, Alex ran into the house and down the basement.
He saw an almost naked Norma and the fully dressed men reaching for her underwear and bra. Alex was enraged and pointed his gun at the pig first. He pulled the trigger more than once and the man was down in an instant, blood coming from his stomach.
Shelby stopped touching Norma and started grabbing his gun out of his holster. He tugged the gun out and shot once at Alex but Alex was quicker and shot the man three times, killing him quickly.
As Alex looked at the two dead bodies, he was quickly brought back to reality when he saw Norma slowly scoot herself onto the stairs.
Alex walked to the bottom of the stairs and picked Norma up. Norma wrapped her arms around Alex's neck and held him.
"P-please, A-Alex. I d-don't wan-t to stay h-here." Norma stuttered.
Alex nodded his head and brought her upstairs, "You can stay at my house tonight and for however long you'd like.".
Norma smiled and tears came to her eyes. She was happy someone was looking out for her. Alex was someone who made her happy even if they'd only known each other for a couple of months. It felt like they've known each other since forever ago; they both felt that way.
Alex brought Norma to her room so she could put some clothes on and pack. While that happened, he called the station and had them come to the motel.
-
Later that day~
-
Norman and Dylan were out cold by the time they had made it to the sheriffs house. It was currently nine-fifty p.m. and they weren't allowed to leave Norma's house until she had answered all the questions, waiting, and getting stitches in her hand.
-
Both Norma and Alex picked a boy up and Alex grabbed the two bags that were full of clothes. Even if Norma had insisted she stayed at her home, she couldn't. The police had to search the place for a couple of days and were going to clean the place up- blood wise.
When Alex opened his front door, he was instantly greeted by the feeling of loneliness- even though he had Norma and her two boys there with him.
Alex walked in first and threw the bags down by the front door; Norma walked in after him.
Neither Alex nor Norma had really spoken since the motel, but they were comforted with each other's presence.
Norma closed the front door and Alex led her upstairs to a spare room the boys would sleep in. Norma and Alex laid the boys down and tucked them in. Norma smiled as she watched Alex push a piece of blonde hair out of Dylan's face like a parent would do.
Alex would make a perfect father Norma thought.
"Come on," Alex whispered, as he walked out of the room.
"You'll sleep in my room." Alex started, as he brought her to his room. "I'll sleep on the couch downstairs.".
Norma looked Alex in the eyes, "No, no, no! You can't sleep downstairs. I'll sleep on the couch. You sleep in your bed." Norma argued
"Norma, it's fine. Just sleep in here." Alex argued, back.
"Alex Romero, I refuse to let you sleep downstairs." Norma said
"Then what do you plan on us doing, huh?" Romero asked, with both his eyebrows raised and arms crossed.
"Um..." Norma stopped, "we can both sleep in here. Yeah, you get the right side of the bed and I get the other half. It's even."
"Norma, I don't wanna make you uncomfortable." Alex said, sincerely.
"You could never make me feel uncomfortable." Norma replied, softly.
Alex gave her a small smile and she returned it back.
"Okay, now lets go to sleep. I'm exhausted." Norma laughed, walking into the room.
