I tackled the sneering pig straight to the ground. Let's see how his ego felt about being taken down by a girl, I thought smugly. But, when I looked down, the obnoxious douche canoe was smiling! He was enjoying this!
Probably the first time the guy's ever had a girl on top of him.
I was about to get off of him with that realization when the asshole actually squeezed my fricking my ass!
So yeah, that's how I squarely punched the linebacker of our football team in the face, leaving a spectacular black eye at that. It was one of my finest achievements, if I had to say so myself. But unfortunately, it was also how I got detention.
After being dragged off of Evan and taken to the principal's office, school was very amusing. Let's just say, putting that prick in his place was something everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
Very reluctantly, I dragged myself to detention, while the rest of the school excitedly chirped about what they would be doing this afternoon.
As I entered the lifeless classroom, it didn't surprise me at all that I was the only person present.
Great, two hours of sitting alone in a class with Mrs. Alexander, who by the way, always gave a shit load of homework.
"Ms. Carter," she announced when entering the room, "I heard about your little escapade this morning," she sneered at me, all high and righteous with her nose in the air, looking at me like I was the gum beneath her shoe.
"Yeah, what can I say. Pompous prick-slayer by day, superhero by night. It's kind of my thing," I hummed, giving her one of my brightest smiles.
"Well, let's hope your writing abilities are as good as your other self-proclaimed talents," her shrill voice croaked.
"Ugh," I groaned, "Why do I always get myself into these situations?" I thought out loud, letting my face fall into my hands.
"I mean, he did deserve it," a deep, velvety voice came from my left.
Slowly, I lifted my head from my hands, to meet the emerald green eyes of Mason Hayes, Wellington High's very own notorious quarterback.
My face remained blank as he looked me over intently, clearly enjoying my misery.
I suppose he was kind of hot, I mean, kind of was a definite understatement. The guy looked like a Greek god. With his messy brown hair and constant smirk, his face carved to perfection, even I had to admit it.
But let's just say, "sexy quarterback" wasn't exactly my type. Seeing as being star quarterback was the number one requirement in the starter pack for "being the biggest F-boy around."
Oh, and did I mention that he was Lucy's older brother? That too...
"Well, if it isn't Mason Hayes," I replied sarcastically, "In detention of all places, never would have thought you'd be in here."
He was literally in detention every second week.
The corners of his mouth slowly rose into a crooked smile. "Is that sarcasm I detect? What an absolute honor to be deemed worthy of Leslie Carter's infamous sarcasm," he replied ostentatiously.
"I wouldn't be too quick to talk, isn't Evan like one of your best buddies?" I asked drily, returning my attention to whatever Mrs. Alexander was writing on the board.
"Evan is not one of my best buddies. The guy's a dick, and it was my sister that bastard was talking about," he stated and I noted his carefree facade slipping just a tiny bit. "If you hadn't given him that magnificent black eye, I most definitely would have."
