Mason held his hands out and I allowed him to pull me up from my sitting position. "Thanks," I mumbled, feeling like a doofus for locking myself out.

"Looks like all those inappropriate thoughts about me are making you a bit forgetful," Mason commented and I followed him to his car with a sigh.

"I'll get my own door," I barked when he reached for the passenger side. His eyes danced with amusement, as he lifted his arms defensively.

Maybe I shouldn't have been snapping at him, he was helping me, after all. I guess it wouldn't kill me to be a little nicer.

Inside Mason's car, I took it upon myself to go through his CD collection.

"So, you're really into rock music, huh?" I noted as I scanned through them. He had something of everything, from Queen to ACDC to Greenday. He even had a few Paramore CDs. "Very impressive."

I made my decision and inserted Paramore into his CD player. "I can't believe you listen to Paramore," I chuckled.

"What? Female lead-singers are just as good," he defended.

"The feminist side of me agrees with that," I murmured.

"I take it you're a rock fan, too?" he asked with an eyebrow raised.

 "Uh-huh," I confirmed.

"I would've pegged you as someone more into hardcore death metal, or something," Mason snickered, as he skilfully ducked my punch to his arm.

"And I would have pegged you for a Teen-Pop kind of guy, you know Britney Spears, Carly Rae Jepsen, something along those lines," I joked.

"Hey, who says I'm not? Everyone likes a little Carly Rae Jepsen now and then," he grinned. "Which reminds me, can I have your phone?"

"Why?" I asked, suspiciously handing it to him while we stopped at a traffic light.

He typed something in and handed it back. "Here's my number, so call me maybe?" he said with a crooked smile.

I gave him one look and burst out laughing. "That was terrible!" I choked out.

I looked down on my phone to see his number saved as, Mason Hayes (the guy I can't stop thinking about.)
I cocked my eyebrow up at him before changing it to, Mason Hayes (that irritating guy).

"Hey, Bill," I said when I entered Bill's Burger Bisto with Mason. My mom worked here on weekends, and I usually pitched in when I could. Since Mila hasn't been feeling well these last few weeks, I've been staying home with Bella, while my mom waitressed.

"Mason, Bill. Bill, Mason," I hastily introduced them, refraining from giving any more information than necessary.

"Yo," Mason greeted casually as he shook Bill's hand.

"My mom here?" I asked as Mason and I made ourselves comfortable at the counter. Mason looked like a kid on Christmas, taking in all the rustic, retro cars and art that decorated the walls.

"You just missed her, kiddo," he smiled down at me as he ruffled my hair.

Bill was a great guy, and since my dad passed away, he's been nothing but helpful. He let my mom take as much time off as she needed after everything went down and even gave me a few jobs when we needed the money.
