Chapter 14: Why are you here

Dark Sonic Pov
"What's the matter hedgehog? Just a second ago, you were raring to go." I mocked. "It's.......just a.....scratch." Shadow wheezed while spitting in my face. "Bad move hedgehog." I hissed. As I was cocking back my arm to finish him off, pinky stood in front of Shadow. I forced Sonic's conciousness to watch as Amy protected Shadow. "What do you want Pinky?" I sneered. "My name is Amy, you faker. I'm here to protect those I care about." she replied confidently. "So, what you mean is, you care for Shadow more than Sonic? I mean, you are facing off against Sonic for Shadow." I teased.

Instead of giving me a sassy remark, she stayed silent. This is perfect. She's making it seem like I was right, making Sonic dislike them more, which increases my strength. "What's wrong pinky? Did I hit the nail on the head?" I said as I burst into laughter. "SHUT UP! You don't know a thing about me and Sonic. Sure, I started spending more time with Shadow but it was because I was scared to see Sonic. If I saw him, he would either avoid me, or treat me like trash. He wouldn't even let me explain the misunderstanding when it happened. But Shadow was treating me like Sonic used to. It was nice to feel loved again." She shouted as she began to sob.

"Listen pinky. I don't care. I saw everything through Sonic's eyes. I'm glad Sonic didn't let you explain what happened. It helped me slowly gain control over our body. You may not believe me pinky, but Sonic has heard and saw everything since I took control. He even saw you protect Shadow and call him someone you care about, not to mention you calling us 'faker'. He even heard you rant about how you feel about Shadow." I spat with a cocky grin. Her eyes narrowed and she began to speak. "Sonikku.....heard that? You're lying. Sonic's not even here." she whined in desperation. Shadow spoke up, "Why do you.....care Rose? I thought you.......loved me......anyway. Why would....it matter.....if fak..er......heard that?" Shadow panted. 

Pinky stayed silent. "You gonna answer pinky?" I said holding back a laugh. "It's not funny you fake Sonic. Bring back my Sonikku!" She shouted. "You don't get the situation do ya pinky? Were you even listening to me dumbass? This is OUR body. So put two and two together." I hissed. "Quit lying. Sonic would never let you take his body." she shouted.

"Since you're so stupid I'll explain everything. I am Sonic's dark emotions personified. I would've never even had a chance to get this body. But you and Shadow gave me the opening I needed to begin to take control. And for that, I thank you two. Now move pinky. You're next on the list. Shadow dies first." I commanded. She stood there defiantly and shouted.

"Wait! Give us two months. Shadow will be more challenging and the fight will be more fun for you. But all we need is the two months." she pleaded. "Wait a minute. You want me to give my only threat time to get stronger while I could just kill him right now?" I asked tilting my head. "Yes?" she said. "Great idea pinky. I might let you live after all. Fine. Begone, from my sight." I ordered. As she picked up his body and ran, I began to talk to Sonic in our head.

"What do YOU want?" Sonic barked at me.

"Just to talk. Did you hear all that?" I asked.

"Yeah. Sounds like you and Eggman lied. That hedgehog seemed way too sincere. Besides, if they really were against me, why would they approach me without attacking?"

"Hmph. So you put it together huh? Does that mean your memories are back?"

"Nope. But everytime I start sleepin', I feel bits and pieces of 'em returning. It won't be long until I fight back."

"Can't wait hedgehog."

Amy Pov
What happened to Sonic? Was that really the side of him that he tries to hide. That explains why he's always so optimistic. But if what he said is true, then it's me and Shadow's fault that he's like this. We have to bring him back no matter what. If we want this to work though, we need Shadow to train hard. Then, a portal opened up and out came two figures.

"Why are you here?" I asked. The first figure stepped out and spoke to me. "We're here because the future is in danger. This dark figure claiming to be Sonic starts killing everyone He says he does it because he was bored. We came to see if you guys might know who it is, and we might be able to stop them now." Shadow chimed in, "We know.....who it is......alright. And for the.......record, he doesn't claim.......to be Sonic. He......IS Sonic." The second figure stepped out and spoke, "You're lying. Sonic would never kill for fun. He SAVES people for fun. Why would he change? And what's up with his new quill color?" she asked. "Well, while it IS Sonic, it ISN'T Sonic. Let me explain. According to him, he's Sonic dark emotion brought to life. He could never take control of their body until he found an opening recently, which he used to claim their body." I explained.

"What do you mean 'found an opening.' Did his heart or mind waver for a short period of time?" Blaze asked lifting one eyebrow slightly higher than the other. "Something like that. We don't know what could have caused it. Heheh." I chuckled nervously. Silver spoke up yet again, "The only thing I can think of is you Amy. Who else would....no, COULD he love?" Silver asked. Blaze responded, "If Sonic kept this strong of a force in for so long, then surely one disturbance couldn't have made him lose it. Either that, or it was a prolonged one. Or, it could've been a combination. For example, Sonic loved someone, had his heart broken, was depressed for a bit, loved someone else, then got his heart broken by them."

How did they put that together so fast? They might find out WHO did this vs what did it. "But anyway, we should stop him here. If we come from 200 years in the future, and he's still around killing, then it's safe to assume that he's immortal. We have to free Sonic ASAP. As soon as Shadow heals, we need to train." Silver explained. "What about me and Blaze?" I questioned.

"No. You two will sit this one out. I get the feeling that someone won't make it out of this alive."
