Chapter 18: He's Back

Tails Pov
Before we could process what happened, Shadow began to beat Knuckles. Blaze rushed towards Shadow to try to save him but Metal Sonic cut her off. It kicked her in the stomach then followed up with a punch to her chin. Knuckles pushed Shadow off him and punched him in the stomach. Shadow gasped for air and Knuckles used the oppurtunity to punch Shadow again sending him across the ship. With Shadow temporarily gone, we all moved in to attack Metal Sonic.

When it turned its attention to me, Knuckles grabbed it and pulled an arm off. It quickly turned to Knuckles and and roundhouse kicked him away. Our chances are higher since he lost an arm. "HEY TINCAN!" I screamed. It slowly turned around. Blaze saw the chance I was giving her and burned one of his eye circuits. It shot a beam into her arm and threw her body aside.

Damnit. Do I call Silver.....or wait? "Tails.....ru...n.." Knuckles wheezed as Shadow threw his body to the side. "What was that about making me pay, fox?" Shadow spat with a cocky smirk. "Screw you Shadow. This isn't over yet!" I hissed back. "I thought you were smart. You're obviously the last one able to fight us. Metal may be down an arm and an eye, but he can still beat you alone. And I'm here." Shadow spoke. "I never said you couldn't. But you don't know everything." I growled. "And what am I missing?" Shadow asked.

"Why would I tell you our plan?" I shot back. "If you want to live." Shadow sneered. Suddenly, Shadow charged at me and pinned me to the ground. "Confess fox." He commanded in my ear. "Never."

"Have it your way." He barked as he began to knock me around. Shadow punched me into a wall and followed up with a kick to my nose. "We're just gonna torture you losers until Silver gets here. Try not to disappoint." Shadow cackled. There was a loud grunt in the distance. We turned to see a dismantled Metal Sonic with Blaze, Knuckles, and Rouge limping towards us. "Refuse to give up huh? I can't see how faker put with you brats." Shadow sarcastically spat. "YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO MENTION HIM!" I screamed furiously. "Really? Then make me stop talking about him."

"Gladly."

Silver Pov
What's taking them so long? They should've either called or returned. I hope they're fine but it seems Tails was wrong. There's no way Sonic's coming back so there's no reason to stay here guarding him. I'll count to ten. If they don't call me or come back, I'm going. 10....9....8....7.....6, screw it. I'm going. "HEY! CREAM!" I shouted. She came running from the room Sonic's body was in. "Yes, Mr. Silver?" she asked politely. "I'm going to help Tails. It's been to long since I heard from them. I was just letting you know."

"Ok Mr. Silver." she said as I rushed out the door.

30 Minutes later

So this is where Tails said they were heading but I don't see anyone. "So, you finally arrive Silver." a voice called from a distance. "Who's there?" I shouted. "No need to be hostile. It's just me.....Shadow." he said. "Where are they Shadow?" I demanded. "Well, if they came here and only I stand in front of you then....." he mocked. "Are they alive?" I asked patiently. "Lucky for you. Eggman insisted that we keep them alive for some reason. He might be torturing them like he did Sonic and Sally." Shadow stated laughing.

"I'm gonna kill you both!" I roared furiously. "I'd like to see you try." Shadow barked back. We charged at each other and I landed the first blow. I shot a full power punch into Shadow's face. His head turned with my fist as he countered with a kick to my stomach. As I gasped for air, Shadow kicked my leg and punched my nose. Before he could continue, I blew him back with my telekinesis. I took the oppurtunity to follow up with a punch into his chest but he blocked with his arms using a cross-guard.

When I tried to bring my leg back down, Shadow grabbed it and threw me towards a wall. I stopped myself by using my legs to jump forward from the wall back towards Shadow. Luckily, his back was turned to me so I landed a punch on the back of his head. As he flinched and I kept flying forward, he sent a kick upwards, straight into my chest. This might be harder than I thought.
