Part 2: Train ride.

The train starts to pull away from district 8, my home, my life. I look out the window taking my last glances of district 8 holding back my tears. I feel someone's presents next to me "hi" Aaron says shyly, normally he's really confident well that's what I've heard. I turn to face him "hi" I reply back. We don't say anything else as our mentors come in.

"Hello I'm Carrie and this is Dominic." The blonde haired woman says to us. "Im Maddie Thompson" I tell them. "Aaron Howard" Aaron tells them. "So... got any skills?" Dominic asks. "I can throw a spear maybe use a sword" Aaron tells them, they nod. "And you?" Dominic asks me. "I can throw knives and use a bow and arrow, use a spear if I have too" I tell them they nod again before glancing at eachother. "Looks like district 8 might have a winner this year" Dominic mutters but we hear. "Right let's watch the other reapings to see who your up against" Carrie suggests. An avox turns the TV on and we all sit around it. I sit on the couch next to Aaron who gives me a weak smile.

District 1 was up first, a thin but somewhat muscly blonde who looked over confident squealed "I volunteer" before bobbing on stage. A male then volunteers who looks like a threat as he's tall with a bit of muscle.

District 2 comes on next a short muscly girl volunteers who has a look in her eyes which looks like shes insane. A tall, very muscular and sad to admit very attractive blonde male, practically ran on stage after volenteering. He's got icy blue eyes and blonde hair. He looks very confident, too confident if you ask me. I just cant stop thinking about him though, his muscles are massive they could break my neck in an instant.

No one else looks a threat up to our reaping. I watch how Izzy was called up with a scared look on her face, but the camera then moves to me moving in the 17 year old section before shouting 'I volunteer." It shows everyone looking shocked, well they should be district 8 hasn't had a volunteer ever in history. I walk up to the stage looking quite confident. Aaron was on next he looked shocked at first but then looked calm. "Well done girly" Carrie tells me while patting my back, which made me smile.

After our reaping all the others don't look like threats. When I see district 11, I notice that there's only a 12 year old girl who's going into the games and a fairly big built 18 year old male who looks like a threat.

After the reapings I decided to go to my room and straight to bed I just can't stop thinking about the boy from 2.
