Waking up has never been my favourite part of the day and it only gets worse when I still hear the screaming voices of my mom and dad.
I get up and put on some of my favourite pants, my yoga pants. They are just to damn comfortable, I swear who ever invented these should get a hug. They probably have all the money that they need already.
I go downstairs to the kitchen and grab myself some breakfast. I have been forcing myself to eat breakfast lately, not because of something to bad. I just noticed that I started skipping my breakfast and then after lunch I would eat a lot of sweets and cookies.
I grabbed myself some yoghurt and some fruit, we had strawberries in our fridge because of my mom. But she only eats them now because of some diet she is following at the moment. My parents where in the garage and I have no idea what they are arguing about today. I learned to just go on with my day and leave them be. All of a sudden the garage door slams open and my dad storms out. He almost ran me over, he was walking so fast.
"Move girl"
"Yes father"
I looked down and moved out of his way.
He was probably having a bad day, I could understand that. I shouldn't be so bothersome when he is having such a bad day.
My mom came walking out of the garage and looked me right in the eyes, and I felt shivers running down my back. I don't like how it looks like she is looking right through me. I take a deep breath and look back up at my mom. "Are you okay mom?" She blinks a couple of times and looks me in the eyes. "Yes Lily, everything is okay just please go up to your room."
I put my dishes away and turned around to walk back to my room, but a hand on my shoulder stopped me. Mom searched my eyes for something and it seems like she found what she wanted. "We are having some friends over tonight.., could you maybe?" Mom looked away as if searching for the right words. But I knew by now what she meant with it. "I'll stay upstairs mom, if that is what you want me to do."
Mom looked relieved for a second, her grip on my shoulder tightened a bit. "Thank you Lily, I will bring some dinner up for you if that is okay?". "Yeah mom thank you".
With that she walked back in to the garage and I made my way up to my room and flopped on the bed. I grabbed my headphones and my book and went back to reading.
