It was only a few weeks later when the storm began, indicating a new demon was going to arrive.
You would think that the act of taking a human's soul and destroying the precious energy would turn them into a demon straight away, but that was not the case. These humans would be easier to 'catch' when it was time for the Good and the Bad to get to them after their death. Most of them, however, still got away and made it to the place where they could rest, neither Good or Bad getting the chance to get to them.
Whenever the Bad did succeed, a raging storm would form above the place or town where the human had died.
This time, it was right above Hongdae, Seoul.
"Are you all ready?"
Five fully turned demons turned towards their sixth friend and nodded.
"Once he arrives, he'll go berserk for a while. We'll have to calm him down. We got this far, the Council trusted us with this job, so now we need to make it look like we are doing things according to their plan."
The five nodded once again. They all knew their individual tasks and they kept their initial plan in mind.
"Now to repeat the plan one last time, the Council wants us to take the new demon straight to them so they can use it to their will, but we will first catch it and calm it down. It has to turn to its human form, no matter what. Everything is allowed. This is a demon we're talking about, a newborn, fully transformed demon, so stay in your demon form and never let it out of your sight."
After all five hummed in response, Namjoon knew they were ready. It was time.
"Here it comes." Namjoon said, his voice just loud enough to be heard over the raging storm. The clouds above them turned darker than ever, resembling the colour of Taehyung's wings, and in a split-second lightning struck, accompanied by low thunder.
There, at the place where the lightning bolt had made contact with the earth, lay a demon.
The demon wasn't too surprising in size – it was nothing compared to Namjoon in his demon form – and overall it didn't look all too frightening. It made half of the group sigh in relief, because at least this wouldn't be an absolute monster going berserk on them, but just a regular demon.
The other half was very suspicious of the demon. They knew that, when a demon wasn't particularly scary or big in size, it could still form an enormous threat by the powers it had been given."Stay back, we don't know its abilities yet." Hoseok said, his flaming form towering over Yoongi, who stood next to him and was almost glaring holes through the demon on the ground. He had taken a step forward, ready to take on the demon – even though he wasn't much of a fighter, he was better at 'tricking' his opponent, so to say...
The demon stirred.
"Everyone, take your place!" Namjoon shouted.
"Don't forget rule number 12!" Seokjin reminded them. Rule number 12: do whatever it takes to stay unnoticed by humans.
The demon let out a roar, but to the six boys it sounded more like a whine. They'd heard enough demon roars and growls to identify this one as the sound you make whenever your alarm clock wakes you up.
"I'm going to make the circle now, guys. We have to be quick, it will spread in minutes." Hoseok said, deciding it was time for his part of the plan: creating a fire circle around the group – and the demon – to make sure it wouldn't be able to run away. It would be special fire, the sort through which only Hoseok and other fire demons could pass.
"I'm going up." Taehyung said, Hoseok's actions reminding him of his own job; to make sure the demon wouldn't be able to fly away (though he wasn't sure if a demon could fly on its first day, he himself didn't really remember).
