"Let's go boys, hustle up in there. That means you , Dalton," Coach says before walking out of the crowded locker room. I sit on the radiator, fully clothed while the other boys walk around in their towels. Meeks strolls out of the showers with a towel around his waist.

"Okay, who's up for a trig study group tonight guys?" Meeks asks.

"Me," Pitts says before quickly continuing, "Are the girls invited?"

"Sure," Meeks responds with a shrug. Meeks' face grows a light blush, presumably at the thought of Maddy.

"I'm in," Neil says. My head snaps in his direction, quickly looking at his physique. Fuck. Can't do that, it's wrong.

"Can't make it guys, I have to go to dinner at the Danbury's," Knox says, sounding annoyed.

"The Danbury's? Who are the Danburys's," Pitts asks.

"Big alumns, how'd you swing that?" Cameron asks, a lilt of jealousy in his voice. I roll my eyes and Neil seems to notice and lets out a giggle. Damn, he's cute. I shake my head and turn back to the other boys, taking note not to think like that.

"Friends of my Dad's. They're probably in their nineties or something," Knox says with an eye roll.

"Anything's better than Hell-ton hash," Neil retorts glumly with a shrug. He dries his hair with a towel, and I have to remind myself not to watch.

"I'll second that," Charlie says with a laugh.

"Yeah, we'll see," Knox responds. I keep my head down until two fingers snap in front of my face. I look up and Neil is standing in front of me.

"Hey, you coming to the study group tonight?" he asks me. Instantly, I shake my head no.

"Uh, no, no I, uh, I've got some history I wanna do," I say, looking down once again.

"Suit yourself," he says to me.

We all make our way out of the locker room once everyone is done and go to our separate rooms. Instantly, I go to my desk and work on trig work, not wanting those thoughts to make their reappearance.

"Todd, can I ask you a question?" Neil asks from somewhere behind me. I shrug, meaning yes, but hoping he doesn't continue.

"Well, I'll take that as a yes," he says, moving to sit on my bed right next to my desk, hesitating before saying, "Why aren't you coming to the study session tonight?"

"I told you Neil, I want to work on history," I say quickly, trying to show him that I didn't want to talk right now.

"Okay, I suppose," Neil says, getting off my bed and gathering his things for the study session, "I'm going to go ask your sister if she's going."

"Okay," I say, waiting to hear the door slam shut. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Neil hesitate at the door.

"Are you sure you aren't gonna-"

"I'm not going Neil," I say sharply. I see Neil shake his head before walking out of the door. Instantly, my head collapses into my hands and I begin to cry silent sobs.

~A/N~ Some of the topics (Todd's presumed gayness) presented in this portion of the story are period-based. They do not reflect my own beliefs. I want anybody to know that it is totally okay to be gay. Thank you all for reading <3
