I watch you from the corner of my eye.
I see the disease you try to disguise.
Your eyes are bloodshot.
Your sickness draws me in.
I watch as the needle pierces my skin.
You turn away as if you can't stand to watch my pain.
The pain you provide to me day by day.
The stench of vodka and bad decisions loom.
Here's to the beginning of something not so new.
