Chapter 3

Sohyun's POV

The sun rays fell directly into my eyes when mom opened the curtains.
" sohyun-ah you are going to be late for your school," mom whispered in my ears. The word school made me completely awake. I took a brief shower and dressed up as casual as i can, i walked downstairs for breakfast.
Dad was already at the table taking a phone call, i knew its work related so instead of greeting a loud good morning i just bowed my head.
"Yes... I will be there in 30 minutes.... Okay......if there are any more issues, inform me, okay? " i could sense uneasiness in dad's voice so i just asked, " Dad, are there any problem in the company?" He just nodded and continued with a sad smile, "sohyun-ah, i can't join with you to your new school, something came up at the office, i am so sorry."
"Its okay, dad! I know you are working for us, so just don't be upset and go to work mom is here with me."

Mom was watching us all this time and finally she got our attention when she shouted, " aish, this father and daughter drama is really a headache in the morning, the breakfast is getting cold. Eat faster."

~time skipped~

We arrived at the school entrance. Its had larger compound than i expected.
My mom glanced at me with her large eyes and questioned, "will you be able to adjust here?" I just nodded without shifting my gaze from my new school.

"Lets go" mom led the way followed by driver with my luggage. I picked my bag and followed mom.
We got the keys, it had 403 engraved in bold. As soon as the door was opened, mom looked at me with concern, "really, will you be able to adjust?" It was a question for me too but i nodded. It was a small room which wasn't even half of the room i had at home and i even have a roommate, the bed on the other side was well organized and had many books (must be a nerd like me) my thoughts were broken when mom started to open my luggage and started to arrange.

I walked towards the small window and took a glance outside, something caught my attention (Kim yoojung? Aah it can't be, u must be mistaken.)

After mom finished unpacking and organizing she left for home. I could sense that she was crying after our mother and daughter hug. I felt guilty and could only think about how i made my mom cry all because i want to enjoy freedom.

I was in deep thoughts when the door creaked open. I was shocked to see yoojung after a decade, she was my best friend in those days. Childhood memories were refreshed and i could see yoojung in same state.
I was happy to meet her again but something had changed between us, a thing that i can't express.

"Hi, we meet again after a decade" i started the conversation.

She was still shocked but replied, "hi, after a decade..." She giggled and continued "how have you been?"

"Fine, and one thing don't tell anyone my identity and i am happy that you are my roommate, i really hoped my roommate to be nerdy and here you are"

"Are you calling me nerdy?"

"Yes" i replied seriously but broke into laughters when yoojung made a long face.

She scolded me for not keeping in touch with her and all. My head was on pillow when i started to think about mom, i miss her. I wasn't in the mood to eat so yoojung went alone. A tear feel on my pillow, is this called homesickness? Should i call dad tomorrow and head back home? Mom and dad is going to tease me if i go back. Kim sohyun you are stupid who thought that you will be able to lead a normal life. But i can do it, nothing is impossible, yah fighting

My mind kept on talking until yoojung arrived and started to talk about the campus, teachers and the students.
