Sohyun's POV

I don't know what stopped him from leaving, he turned back and came towards me, I was for a moment turned into statue, my brain ordered me to push him but my body wasn't following the instructions, instead my heart reacted, it started beating really fast.
I started blushing, he let me out,"good night and sleep well, see you tomorrow." I could hear him say but my body was numb, I didnt know how to react. After he left, how I wish I told him, it was a dare game to keep his picture my profile, I could not fall asleep thinking about that hug, it keeps on hitting my mind time and again. I also wanted to know what I was thinking or doing, it was the new me, whom I don't know myself. The usual me would have answered that it was just a dare game nothing serious but the new me, didn't want to let him down by telling it was a dare game.

The old me would have pushed him, slapped him on the spot when he hugged me, but the new me feels comfortable in his arms. It makes me blush.

Never have I ever been like this, I don't know why I am being like this. Was yoojung right? The thoughts were endless, I kept on wondering and no wonder it was already mid-night. Mom came to my room quietly, she came to wake me, but was shocked to see me awake, "School really changed my daughter, now let's go to wish your dad" I smiled and nodded to her. She brought the cake and other requirements, I carried the champagne, as soon as we entered the room, mom and I started singing happy birthday song, as usual dad smiled, he wished and blew the candle, this was the only day in a year dad takes off from his office and goes fishing with his friends.

My dad being a hardworking man, usually don't take leave, but he believes everyone deserves to be free on their birthday.

"Thank you, sohyun and sohyun oma"
Dad showed his gratitude with lots of love in his voice, "Happy birthday, dad! Hope this year you will the happiest person on the earth"

"For that you need to return home, you know I don't ask anything from you, for the first time I am asking you for a favor, will you do that for me?"

I can't say no to him on his birthday,
"Okay dad, I will return after the final exams."

I could see him smile, that was the what I wanted for him, maybe I was acting selfish, I never considered my dad's feelings before telling him that I want freedom.

"Stop! Stop this emotional drama and let's enjoy your birthday hubby", mom took the champagne and shook it before opening, she stylishly popped it. She picked the knife, sliced the cake and gave a bite to dad and me. "This was the best birthday ever, amsohyun-ah don't forget your promise."

While walking back to my room, I reflected upon myself, how selfish I was, all dad did was wanted to protect me and I thought he was being overprotective. After I return from school, I am confident that I will be changed into a better person. I really need to stop being selfish and start accepting the truth, I will work hard to get the first position but its wrong to hate sehun for taking that position.
I reached in my room, got inside the blanket to get beauty sleep.

I woke up late, since I slept late, mom came to the room complaining that I am not helping her.

Mom: sohyun-ah wakeup, we have lots of work to do for tonight. All workers have arrived, and its already 9 am.

Me: mom let me sleep one more hour.
I promise I will get up at 10.

Mom: I am hopeless with this girl, I am giving you exactly one hour, I know when you wake up, as always you are going to complain about the decorations and all. We don't like working twice.

I don't like anything that is not in the way I want, so I want them to redecorate, hence mom always asks me to decide first but today isn't the day, I just wanted to sleep.

Suddenly, light rays hit my eyes, I could hear someone open my curtains,
"Mom, I told you, one more hour"

"You still look pretty" I could hear a husky familiar voice...sehun?
